Humor me here. The way the first 3 offensive possessions went last night.

Was anyone besides me relieved when LSU finally crossed the 50? I knew I breathed a sigh of relief, and threw my hands up and cheered..."We got across the 50". My wife looked at me sideways and quietly wondered why she married me.

I told the wife that I wished we would just let them score so we could get off the goal line, and run our offense.

No. I just wanted CEH in the back field to pickup blitz coming right up middle. If they drop out roll him out as safety valve. Especially since we were pinned.

If you knew anything about Venables, you knew he would do things that initially would confuse us. Figured it would take 3-4 series to find how to go at the weak point. Poor field position compounded that. The penalty to negate the throw to Moss killed early momentum. We finally settled into a rhythm of success. It was all over then

Nah. My son was all upset. I kept telling him to chill, that we've got this. Even when they scored I knew we had it. 2 awful field positions AND the penalty got us off to a horrible start. I knew that once we get better field position and not completely backed up, that we could go to work.

Hats off to their punter though.

I was at the game and said the same thing. I got a bunch of high fives. Good times.

Didn’t we cross the 50 on that bomb to chase?

I wasnt Too worried though.

I knew We needed a little room to operate.

Definitely felt anxious about it but still realized it was too early in the game to freak out.

Being backed up inside the 5 cuts your playbook big time. I wasn’t too worried until we were down by 10

I told my wife "I have seen this show before" when we struggled. I knew we would climb in it but there was a mini flash back.

Honestly LSU won the game in those possessions.

They didn’t make a mistake when pinned back and only game up 1 score with Clemson on a short field. A turnover / safety or worst defensive play there and you could easily be looking at a 14 point plus deficit. Not making mistakes was huge there.
