If Gilbert could get through 6 without giving up more then 2 runs would be fantastic. If we have to take him out in the 4th or 5th will not be good.

Don't believe Poche will be used today.

It was said somewhere that today would be like a bullpen day for Poche' during the regular year and that he might could go 20 pitches or so if needed. He would be good to throw an inning where some of OSU's lefties are due up.

We've got to get to the championship series if we are to win it. I would bring in Poche after Gilbert gets knocked. Let him go as far as he can. Yes, game 1 of the championship series would not have Poche or Lange, but Lange could go in game 2 and Poche in game 3.

LSU scores about 18 runs in first inning and let lil sweet take the mound so he can get the attention he's craving.

Perfect scenario?

1. Gilbert - 9 pitch, perfect first inning.
2. We score 18-36 runs in the bottom of the 1st.
3. Reynolds pitches 8 scoreless innings in relief.

I think we'll see something like:

1. Gilbert for about 5
2. Poche/Newman/Bain/Reynolds/situational into the 8th
3. Hess for 1 2/3

Because throwing 30 pitches first then throwing 80 is different than throwing 100 then 30. Your arm is worn out and needs to recover after throwing 100 pitches, it is not worn out after 30

Strall complete game no hit shut out. We win by 1 run, dupes scores from first on a passed ball 3rd strike 2 out in the bottom of the 9th.

Ideally Gilbert goes 9, but I think the best realistic scenario is

Gilbert 5 and change
Beck for 1 and change
Newman for setup in the 8th, finds his mojo again, rolls through the rest of the game to build his confidence back.

Hess gets some good rest and can close all three games in the finals.

Zero chance Lange goes Game 2 of the Championship Series. He's Wednesday at best.

I think it's more likely that poche is used then it is for Hess to get the ball for 2IP.

Lange on 3 days rest? No shot. Like zero.
