I saw an Ace Ventura documentary where they tried kidnapping the quarterback before the big game.

Have LBs hit the WRs at the line, blitz/rush everyone else and hope either they don’t run the ball or that the RB runs into one of the DL’s or LB/DB’s pass rushing lanes.

Saban says:

So there you have it! Personally I would want to get the ball on my own 1 yard line. And slowly march down the filed 3.4 yards per play.

There's a reason why NFL teams don't average 48 points per game. There are fewer weaknesses and mismatches to exploit. So my answer would be to close the talent gap.

You have to have the personnel to do it. It's not as simple as saying how would you stop it lol. You have to play man the entire game number 1, then, you have to play press man and have the lineman to get to the qb very quickly and then have the linebackers to cover our slot recievers rbs and tight tends as well. That only accounts for our passing game lol. It is unstoppable. Teams have to be able to score over 30 points to have a shot even with a great defense. This LSU offense is one of the best of all time. Period. It's just insane.

I hate to say their offense is unstoppable, but when you watch film on them week after week like so many more qualified defensive coordinators and head coaches have, you quickly realize that LSU just has too damn many weapons to defend:

1. a well-coached quarterback with excellent mobility and downfield vision, who, when he tucks it and runs, gets a first down more often than anyone in the nation,
2. 3 pro-style wide outs (and 2 on the bench that could start at most any division 1 university) with outstanding route-running capabilities and hands like a first-round draft pick,
3. a strong tight end with the hands and feet of a wide receiver, and just when you think you can cover 4 downfield receivers who can not just run the deep route, but can also catch short routes and get plenty of yards after the catch, so you put your dime and nickel backs in to contain the downfield pass, LSU then hands to
4. an outstanding running back or checks to him in the flat for a beat-one-man-then-get-into-the-secondary for an attempted open-field tackle by a small nickel or dime back.

Yeah, this is a special year we're watching folks...I wish it wasn't over in January, because there isn't a college defense equipped or coached well enough to stop these 4 weapons.

These days you don't stop elite offenses. You slow them down by have an elite defense that can hold them to FGs and occasional stops. If you also have an elite offense you hope to get ahead a few scores and then trade scores up 14 and maybe stretch the lead after a stop.

If you have a UGA offense you want to limit LSU possessions with a ball control style of offense. The problem with that style is you need to score TDs because settling for FGs won't do it.

Another thing to slow an elite offense down is being a bit dirty. Toss a lineman into the QBs leg, take a 15 yarder blasting a QB or RB as they step out of bounds. I'm not condoning this at all just saying it is a way to shake a player up and get in their head. UCF did this to Joe last year and blasted him so damn hard he got up a brand new QB.

Rush 3 and drop 8, with the middle being a spy. But you have to do it out of different looks in terms of how you line up guys on the LOS and signal pressure, so Joe doesn't know exactly what you're doing. You have to bring an extra guy every now and then to keep us honest, though. Have to stunt linemen and try to create confusion and hope you have guys in the middle that can reset the line by pushing Lloyd/our guards back to throw off timing.

Even then, Joe is probably going to find a guy to complete to the majority of the time. Then you have to tackle.

We are very very difficult to stop, but that's what teams should do.

Tackle the receivers before the ball arrives and have briefcases of money available for the refs.

Opposite IMO.

I don't know the strategy in terms of how to get it done, but the best way is to consistently get pressure with your 4 defensive linemen.

Well...since no one has stopped LSU yet....what has not been tried yet? Saturday, expect more of the same. Sorry Georgia, you just happen to be in the way.

You can’t stop Peyton (with wheels), Edgerrin James and Reggie Wayne.

You just can’t.

Get them to the red zone where at best you can hold them to a couple field goals. Problem with that is CEH is a bitch to tackle down there.

Auburn sort of tried that. A&M sort of tried that and didn't execute all that well. Joe had his lowest completion % of the year in both games. But we're pretty unstoppable, so we'll still put up points.

It’s the only way. You’ve gotta have elite D linemen. That’s the first requirement.

The issue though is when the DL are in pass rush mode CEH is literally the perfect style of runner for that situation. Usually Dlinemen are keying on the passer in a pass first offense and that can make them susceptible to being kicked out or zone blocked and also missing tackles which CEH excels at.

It’s why CEH seemingly makes it look easy against the really good DLs we’ve faced ie Florida and Auburn. They are keying on Burrow and end up getting zone blocked out opening up holes and CEH slips or spins right by them.
