It would be a big loss but I’d be happy for aranda. He helped LSU to the best season ever I’ll never forget that

He’s been no worse than solid and sometimes amazing in his time here. The way he got things together late this year after some struggles was truly impressive. His defense was awesome in the second half Monday.

If he wants to be a head coach, then I wish him well. I just hope he doesn’t leave for a mediocre job. Baylor isn’t, but I doubt he he that one. He was mentioned for the Hawaii job and it is absolutely mediocre.

Who else will follow Aranda? And who will replace him?

Wow, you are a sharp one, aren't you? So, let me dumb it down for you...Most high level head coaches are an expert on one side of the ball or the other and they counter that with a strong OC on the other side.

Orgeron has proved to be a great administrator and LSU ambassador. He will just be tasked with making sure he has elite assistants to carry much of the load from a player development and coaching perspective. It is not a knock, it is just reality.

There are several successful head coaches who are masters of neither side. The guy we just beat is a prime example.

In short, no team hires a coordinator that they believe the head coach will have to micromanage.

Football is a big business. Think of the coach as being equal to the general manager in the business world. Ultimately responsible for the success or failure, not an expert in all matters of running the operation

Steele is apparently not leaving Alabama. It has to do with retirement benefits in the state, if I recall.

Not upset at all

We're champs, the best team ever. Can't take that away.

I think he is a very smart and good coach but I think some new blood at that position wouldn't be terrible, maybe someone with a little more fire

You're right but the Cult of Aranda is going to kill with downvotes.

Pretty much nothing can upset me about LSU football right now.

We just experienced the absolute pinnacle of football nirvana. By default it has to pull back.

Recruit, rebuild, hire well. Win a couple NY6 games, make a Natty run in a few years.

Every last word of this. You literally cannot get better than what it was for LSU this past season. There's nobody left to beat. Ok, OSU...but c'mon. We would beat them too.

There's no awards left on the table. There's not one single thing you can place an asterisk on about this past season. If it wasn't 100% perfect, it was 99.999999999999% perfect.

It would be interesting to know how many coaches and players left Alabama and Clemson after winning NC's?

Seems like every spring there is an exodus from LSU football.

Aranda wants to be a HC. Can't fault the man for that. Brady is head scratching, especially from a Carolina viewpoint.

It's the next move for him. I'm happy for him personally. I just want to hire another coach like him that's always looking for answers defensively and works tirelessly. I would assume Busch might go with him.

My concern is getting at least one of these positions that are open filled to help the recruiting efforts heading towards the February signing period.

He deserves it..he was the unsung hero of the game and if you look at the celebrations he was mostly by himself. He deserves alot of credit....that said baylor after rhule is not the place to go for him
