re: How to get LSU fans to stay a whole game and restore Tiger Stadium to Death Valley?

Build parking garages closer to campus so fans don't have to walk a marathon to get to and from the stadium (it would help students as well). Deal with the incredible traffic. Better concessions. Better Wifi. Better team.

Reconfigure seating, add additional clubs, get better cell coverage. The concourses suck, bathrooms and concessions are a joke. Winning isn’t going to make all the problems disappear, but there needs to be some major upgrades to the stadium.
I think pretty much every rational Tiger fan will agree with all of this.
I do as well except for cell coverage. If we improve cell coverage then more people will be on their phone instead of watching the game and cheering. Never understood why people can’t just disconnect from their phone for 3 or 4 hours and enjoy whatever it is that is going on right in front of them.

Solve the post game traffic issues period. Many people leave because they don’t want to fight the traffic issues.

can’t be done

Some are obvious some may not be
1. Need a coach who will emphasize attendance and staying and be willing to call out the fan base.
2. University and TAF need to fully admit it’s a problem and run a campaign about it.
3. Emphasize ritual and tradition. Give moments space to breathe and actually feel important. Don’t blast hip hop and EDM all pre-game, turn it off so the tiger band can play a song, then go back to blasting EDM. The sound system was a mistake. It takes away from what Fighting Tiger football is about. Go back to the cheerleaders leading chants. Encourage it using the video boards.
4. Nostalgia. Stop trying to make Tiger Stadium a night club. People should feel that it’s the same place their dad and grandpa came to watch football. Play old clips, show old teams, embrace the history. If they’re going to call it the “cathedral of college football,” actually show some reverence and respect.
5. Actually give people the chance to cheer and lead the experience. Everything about tiger stadium is too over produced. There’s no breathing room for the crowd. No autonomy to lead chants. The entire experience is corporate and feels like it’s trying to silence the voice of the crowd.
6. This goes hand in hand with #4 but lean into the AWE of tiger stadium instead of using it like a billboard. Yes, you need ads. You need cash. We know. But the field logos took it a step too far.

The Hurricane Said -
Your Exactly right , the Stadium needs to be Upgraded,
I'll add Chairback seating (Goods ones, Not cheap closeouts you get on the Cheap)
Redo the Concourses
Add some Purple and Gold (TS seems Cold, add some color to certain areas of the Stadium)
Cell Coverage is Bad
Once again the Sound is Weak , Re-Placement of Speakers are Needed... There are several other SEC stadiums that sound a lot better
Bathrooms are always on the list , because nothing is really done

besides winning, don't serve a Cajun Burger for $15 that's supposed to have all these things on it but is only a very below average meat patty and two pieces of soggy bread.

Play Neck.
Yall took the "atmosphere" out of TS because the pearl clutchers think we aren't "classy."

South Carolina was a perfect example of this.

I have said this many times that today’s society has an attention deficit. The fans can’t sit in one place for 3 1/2 hours without wanting to do something else.

I think this is the single largest factor in it emptying. People are just trying to beat the rush and not get home till midnight or later.

Free bourbon in the 4th quarter

In this day and age with sports betting, it’s prevalent.

1) Give away an expensive purse late in the 4th quarter of every game to a female fan who danced the entire game. It's like a house party--more dancing women means a better party.
2) Last hour of the game is happy hour with half off beer.
3) Encourage shaming people who leave early.
3) Improve traffic flow after the game.

The east and west sidelines need an upgrade from the faded gold.
The NEZ needs to be reconfigured. It has no symmetry to it.
I have tickets in 213 and it’s easier for me to grab food and drinks in the SEZ pop ups than it is the concessions right behind me.
The concourses aren’t wide enough to accommodate fans going to tiny bathrooms, lines to concessions, people walking in and the assholes sitting on the ground trying to charge their phone because it’s out of juice at 6p.

They foolishly built the seating to 100,000. There are not 100,000 people who want to sit through a four hour LSU game. Also, it created such traffic problems that folks are afraid to stay.
They should redo the stadium for about 70,000 seated very comfortably and fix the concessions so that it’s equivalent to the food at Walk Ons.

The problem with this is that concessions don’t have enough space. Most cooked food is coming from a central location and then kept in warming trays and moved throughout the stadium. That food could take 45min to get from fryer to the concession.
