Most of the Tigers starting quarterbacks in Miles’ nine years have been guys with mobility: Matt Mauk, Ryan Perrilloux, JaMarcus Russell and Jordan Jefferson.

under 3 option plays.

I hope they practice a lot of screen plays though. Would be nice to see these fellas finally execute a screen pass successfully.

no doubt

I wonder how much of the secret playbook he will expose against Iowa?

Good catches. That kind of sloppiness is best left to The Rant. We expect more from our "papers of record," no?

I doubt that...maybe one or two to give them something to think about.

But you are misguided if you think they want to change the offense much with him.

He's faster than JJ. Jennings runs a 4.52.

Indeed, think JJ ran a 4.7 or just under that with a hitch in his stride.

Even if JJ was faster, Jenns decisiveness when to cut up makes him much more of a threat on the run.

AJ's 1st start?

I am curious if we will see a dramatic shift in play calling for the bowl game or if any such moves will wait until next season. Seems logical that the current approach will continue in some way, shape, or form... I would imagine an off-season to build the package around him will provide something more significantly different to destroy Wisconsin.

I expect two at the most. Jennings is passer that actually has quick feet as opposed to stone shoes. Mett is very accurate when he has the time, but pocket mobility is crucial these days. Jennings gives that, and that's what we'll see.

Speed is a non-factor for an option QB. It's quickness that matters, and this guy is quicker than JJ. JJ would be better suited for the read-option, though, because he's powerful and likely, less prone to injury.

I say we see two or three options just to see. If they work, we'll see more.

If AJ can improvise, make throws on the run, take the easy yards on the ground when they're there, I'd could give a rat's arse if we run a single option play during his tenure.

Hopefully very little. We are not an option team. We're an NFL offense. Designed QB run wrinkles are okay, option wrinkles are a little much. Jennings needs reps as a passer not a runner

This. People just need to breathe and remember that Cam is at the helm.

doesn't matter - cannot afford to have your #1 QB come up lame from running the ball too much. He will execute a similar offense as Mett ran, just have more mobility to escape the pocket and hopefully the extra-hard hits behind the line.

Surprised me how open the players were discussing read option in that article. If they really had big plans for it you'd think Les would have his guys more tight lipped. Maybe its a little gamesmanship on their part, giving Iowa something to think about and prepare for.

Hopefully no option plays

He's a pocket passer that can run

LSU has hill, Magee, Hilliard and Blue to run the ball.
