Hopefully, the year he hangs it up in the NFL he will have a paid position at LSU. Two to Three seasons thereafter he's coaching as a position coach.

He's too great an ambassador of the game for LSU to ask him to go coach at the high school level.

I do wonder which he would consider though. As great of an ambassador for the program that is, he’s equally dedicated to the community he grew up in. I think it boils down to where he thinks he can have the most impact on young men.

As we've seen with a former great running back coach, TM7 is NOT coaching material.

On what would one base their opinion Mathieu has what it takes to be a successful college coach? He was an elite athlete and loves LSU? That sounds a lot like Stovall and Faulk. Does he even have a desire to coach? There’s not that many athletes who could retire EXTREMELY comfortably who are looking to transition into 18-hour workdays.

Any LSU HC would be an idiot to not bring him on in some capacity.

That dudes bleeds P&G and has been through some shite.

"If I can do it, you can do it" is a solid story.

Tyrann has openly suggested he wanted to return in “some capacity”…that can take on many forms

I doubt he’d be a very good coach. It’s a hard job that requires long hours. I can’t imagine a guy with Tyrann’s money committing to that, especially not a guy who is known for being a little irresponsible.

A 4 year degree from LSU 11 years ago will not be the reason he can or can’t coach, at any level.

He has a deep love of LSU, from NOLA, excellent college & pro experience under several high quality coaches, I could keep going…

I get that he’s unproven as a coach, that’s fair. But if he applies himself to coaching the way he did to being a player, there should be no doubt in anyone’s mind he can be great.

Why would you not get him the building and see what he can do?

He has said, he being kicked off of the LSU football team saved his life. This kid was born destined to become a statistic, and somehow managed to turn his life around and become a success. While I am not generally the second chance or forgiving type, this guy is a shining example that people can change their circumstances.

I see him being an analyst and if all goes well transitioning to a coaching gig.
