5 punts for Bama and we win

A combo of 5 punts or stops should be enough. That includes any unsuccessful 4th down attempts and turnovers.
If we can steal 1-2 turnovers, and protect the ball, we will get enough touches to get points. Gotta make the red zone trips end with more TDs than FGs.
Hang on fans, it is going to be a GREAT game!

LSU is scoring on 9 of them. 8 of those 9 will likely have to be touchdowns in order for us to have a chance to win.

You think we NEED 59 points to win? I think it’s lower than that…

Decent analysis. Obviously, the defense will have more leeway if LSU's offense is clicking.

Frankly, almost any FG is a win as long as they keep Bama out of the endzone. LSU's offense can probably overcome 12 FGs, if you think about it that way.

(But, I don't expect LSU's defense to be that stingy.)

Field goals instead of touchdowns will be more important than number of punts. also, Alabama average time to score will be key. When Alabama does score touchdowns, it needs to be on 3-5 minute drives.

Here are the current bama stats:
LINK

If I’m reading these correctly they avg 5 punts per game (40 punts in 8 games). 30 minutes TOP. So they are scoring quick it seems when they score. They avg just over 30 a game.

Not that we are going to make them punt 5 times but if we can limit their scoring drives to fgs and make them work for tds maybe we turn the game around and give our offense chances to score.

And yes, big ifs. I can hope.
