and of course this argument is silly. Soccer is the world's most popular sport because all you need is a ball. Folks in poor countries can play soccer, but not other sports that require equipment. That's the reason soccer is so popular.

You could largely say the same thing about basketball. All you need is a two goals and a ball. Basically the same as soccer. Baseball is wildly popular in many poor countries (notably in the Caribbean). The reason soccer is so popular worldwide is because it started in England which allowed it to more easily spread across Europe and then much of the world (South America was mostly colonized by Europeans). In the US the most popular sports are "homegrown": American football, baseball, basketball. We just never really went "all in" on soccer because we created our own games.

You know that it's ok for you to love soccer, but yet acknowledge that the game could be improved with some tweaks.

Would some rule changes make it more popular for American audiences? Maybe. But that would take overcoming well over a century of goodwill/interest built up in the domestic American sports. Otherwise, soccer seems to be doing just fine with the rest of the world. So I'm not sure they need to "tweak" decades old rules just to make it more appealing to the US.

I'm not a soccer fan. I find the game boring to watch for all of the same reasons you mentioned. At very best, I'm a casual observer. I understand the rules and nuances of soccer. But that doesn't make it any more appealing to me, personally. Still, I don't know why there is always an argument about soccer. If you like it, great! If you don't, that's ok too

College baseball World Series is an excellent alternative to NBA and World Cup yawners. If you are not watching you are simply not a baseball fan, LSU or no LSU, its college baseball

I wish that both Texas and Alabama could lose this game…

Never was too much of a fan of automated strike zone in place of umpires. Complete change of mind after watching college baseball post season and CWS. Calls are too damn inconsistent and many are downright ridiculous. Give the plate umpire an earpiece and beep in the call.

This is a really absurd comment. I've been a huge baseball fan since I was a kid. But I'm not watching the college world series. Why? Because I don't care about any of the teams that are in it. My enjoyment of a sport is directly tied to my love of my team in any given sport.

Once in a while, I find a matchup interesting enough to watch without my team in it, but it's pretty rare. I'm an adult... I have to do better things with my time than spend all of it watching games that have nothing to do with my fandom. It was different when I was a kid. Games that I actually care about already take up more of my time than they should.

Oklahoma is proving that it's not the best team, but the team that's playing the best that wins. At least so far.

100% my take on this. No LSU in CWS - no care.

I'm watching. The OU/UGA game last night was great.

Its much less stressful when you don't care who wins and just enjoy the game.

Nobody cares about your gay activity that poor countries love around the world. It will never be popular in America because it’s a terrible and gay activity

This is the most brainless response if I ever saw one, wow people like you do exist. Are you 10 years old? No offense to all 10 year old kids worldwide.

The game has very little scoring and few legit shots on goal.

Just pretend each goal is worth 6 points.

And scouting for LSU 2027....?

Watching. Mainly to watch ole Miss bama and Texas lose, which they all did. Now I really don’t care who wins and can just watch for fun.

Would prefer NC or West Virginia tho
