I love LSU football with a passion, but all this portal nonsense , NIL, recruits having no loyalty to their commitment , and current/past players having no loyalty to our team has put a sour taste in my mouth.
I have never liked BK and each year recruiting and players transferring have ate me up. I’m getting to the point to where I don’t want to follow college football in any way shape or form.
Anyone else getting to that point?

Never in a million years thought I'd agree with this but I'm starting to feel the same way.

I’ll still watch and pull for LSU. The games are still fun for me, but no question my affection has cooled. I am not nearly as invested.

Stopped the big support a few years ago. And could basically care less right now. Nothing but greed and $. May it all implode. Time for an NFL G League. Let them all go to work and rot when they do not make it.

This will get fixed within the next year or two. There will be transfers and NIL but it won't be the wild west like it is now. Nobody wants this, including the schools currently reaping the benefits. Until then I'll sit back and watch the shitshow.

It won't make me not care about LSU football. I'll head into September next season with high hopes. I'll get excited to watch if LSU is in contention. However, what these last few years have done is make it easy for me to give up on the season when things go off the rails.

I will follow LSU football to my death...and probably continue to buy season tickets along the way...I have faith that someone beyond my pay grade will step in and fix the system.

Sure, the Texas and Michigans of the world love the current system, but it is not sustainable and they will be foolish to not get on board with reforming what we have now.

But I will say this: these high dollar deals with incoming freshmen can lead to locker room issues if these players underachieve...will be interesting to watch.

Same. It is what it is. It's not the same sport anymore.

I already have pretty much given up on college football. There was one Saturday this year where I legitimately forgot that football was on and ended up not watching any games at all. That never could have happened to me even a few years ago. Granted I had other stuff going on to distract me, but still, I used to go out of my way to make room for football and now I just don't really care

Not fully, but I definitely am not as invested as before.

I prefer college to pro, but at least pro has some sort of a salary cap. This has truly become pay for play to play for a particular school.

I hate having to root for my favorite school to constantly come up with all the money in the world to buy recruits.

People that claim they were paying players under the table before should still be able to admit this is a whole other level of madness. I don't see how this is sustainable and it truly doesn't seem right to be unlimited earning to play for a particular school. Spare me the you must hate capitalism when we are talking about competitive sports where pros have an actual salary to building a team.

So you've still got a ways to go before you could not care less.

STFU pussy! Losing has a bigger impact than the money. Who wants to stay committed to a dysfunctional LOSER like a BK ran program.

ive stopped following recruiting as much but ill never not follow and love this sport and LSU. There is going to be an effort to reel the NIL in once the house settlement is finalised and revenue sharing becomes a thing.

It’s not a give up for me, but it’s definitely less of a priority. This was the first season in 20+ that I missed watching a few games because other events or socialization opportunities interested me more.
I feel less connected and by that I will gradually make choices that serve me better.

I still love the game, on the field. The off the field bs is disheartening but the games are still enjoyable (the sport, not talking just LSU)

There’s nothing appealing about getting a few billionaires together and buying the best players to come play for your school.

Even if you win it’s a shallow victory.

It’s certainly the exact antithesis of what made college football appealing. If I’m going to watch professionals I’d rather watch the best of the best who’ve earned it.

i still anticipate each season, but big wins or losses, i really am just not as into them as i once was. you could say i'm finally starting to grow up, but at 52 that ship has sailed. i'm not interested in players as much that aren't that interested in LSU. signing with LSU, or any team for that matter meant something. now everything is just a business decision......and my business decision has got me from an 18 handicap down to an 11. respeck my decision and i am getting rid of my season tix this year.
