I will NEVER rewatch that debacle. That is the exact moment Les Miles played not to lose instead of playing to win, the exact moment Bama became Bama again and LSU started its downward spiral.
It's a damn shame it took LSU 5 more years to fire Miles. That game was the epitome of his career. Saban has the common fricking sense to yank his QB in the second half during a national championship.
If you've never crossed the damn 50 yard line, and you wait until 3rd and forever to throw a sideways pass or a 5 yard pass that has zero chances of any YAC, what makes you think that approach will work against that defense when you are down two scores in the second half?
The next 5 years, how about we retard the offense, steal Carl Smith's strategy, and run run pass punt until the clock reads 0:00. While we're at it, lets recruit nothing but spread QBs and force them to run a hybrid of the power option and 1980's pro-style that somehow ignores the TE, RB screen, and pass that travels more than 10 yards vertically. Lets run into the strength of the defense with 11 in the box and only attempt 6 yard passes when it's 3rd and 17 and we're down 17-0. Lets put our young QBs loaded with potential and talent in the worst fricking possible positions to succeed, micro-manage what they can do, and prevent them from running an offense because you can't trust them.
Bama, GA, TX, Ohio St, OK, Clemson, and many other legit programs showed actual confidence in their freshmen QBs and didn't retard their offense to check with me's on every damn play... the let the QB's play to their strengths and learn from their mistakes. Every person in the stadium didn't know when it was going to be a pass play because they didn't wait until they were down multiple scores and 3rd and ___ to throw it. Everything Les's offense said was "I don't trust you and have zero confidence in you; you will frick it up if I actually let you play QB".
That game fractured Les Miles pitiful brain and is the biggest reason the gap in talent is so great between LSU and Bama today. Afterall, the engine doesn't need to be overhauled, just tweeked. Stubborn a-hole who can't look in the mirror or at the very least listen to common fricking sense. Les' game plan from that point forward was the definition of insanity and downright delusional.
How that guy thought the same pathetic game plan he used in the "game of the century" was going to succeed again, and how he kept that same philosophy for the next 5 years, and how we still had Miles apologists up until the day he was fired blows my mind.
To all of you Miles apologists, how many schools have pursued Les? That should tell you something. Yes, he is full of integrity, a great human, and a quality man. But he is shite for self scouting and looking in the damn mirror and recognizing what's obvious to everyone else.

To watch that over again is the equivalent to videoing a funeral and continuing to watch that over and over again!!

Dumb question. No offense.

Never, why do I want to crucify myself.

No. Erased immediately from DVR and refuse to this day to look at a single highlight from any source.

I'll sign in for this one. What an absolute joke on offense. The Oklahoma win was equally as bad in 2nd half offensively but at least we WON that game.

To this day, the only “highlight” I’ve ever seen is the gif of Jefferson tossing the crystal ball to the Bama defensive player.

It's the past.....move on. The future looks bright for my LSU Tigah Football Team.

I rewatched it last night after reading this thread. Man, we were in that game for so much longer than I remember despite the offense. In the 3rd Quarter the yard breakdown was 248 to 67 in favor of Bama and it was 12-0. We had no business being in that game if it weren't for our all-word Defense.

One of my kids was a toddler at the time and got a bad ear infection. I had to run out and get a prescription filled around kickoff. By the time I got home and we got him settled, I missed most of the first half. I chose not to watch the second half. I don’t know if I even turned the tv on or if the TD threads were enough to convince me to walk away.

I want no parts of that ever. Similar to how I couldn’t watch this past year’s Bama game and don’t wanna see a single play frick Bama
