It will be over 45k. Some of you people simply don't realize how huge the ls fan base is. It's going to be damn near full.

Bit different. The announcement of moving the game was further in advance, away games during the middle of season vs. kickoff that many from LA were attending anyways.

11am kickoff.

I would guess not much more than 50k. So many people plan weekend activities based on LSU not playing at home. There are a lot of people with labor day plans who expected to be out of town and watch the game on TV.

I just looked at the map of tickets sold...looks around 25,000 sold so far.

I don't know how many people from LA were going to attend the game if it remained in Houston. The LSU ticket director was on the radio yesterday and said that of the 20k or so tickets by LSU (prior to the venue change) about half were purchased by people in TX. I would imagine the overwhelming majority of those folks aren't going to be attending the game in NOLA.
Also, how many people from SW Louisiana were planing to go to the game in Houston, but now have changed their plans? Plus, even though Houston isn't some must see destination, a lot of Louisiana people may have been looking at the game as a nice little getaway from home. Will they feel the same about NOLA?

Very true. Plus, it was against Tulane. But is an 8:30 kickoff much better? Unless you are from the NOLA metro area you would likely need to get a hotel room if you are going to the game. How many folks are going to want to drive an hour or more back home from a game than will end at midnight or later? With the choice being pay for a hotel or make a very late drive home, many people may decide it's just cheaper and easier to stay home. Plus, (and maybe I'm wrong) aren't the tickets still pretty pricey?
It being the season opener for a "new" era of LSU football will give the game some added excitement. But even when the game was still in Houston, BYU being the opponent didn't really move the needle all that much.
45k for ACTUAL attendance is a good line. I would take the under (just barely)

Unless ticket sales pick up significantly, I'd say the under 45K looks like a pretty safe bet. Almost the entire terrace is currently empty.

I'm confused. Why did LSU only get slotted 25k tickets? The Dome Steats around 70k. We can sell 35k, no problem! That still leaves 30k for corporate and 5k for BYU. No way BYU uses more than 5k.

It doesn't really matter. All remaining tickets are for sale to the "general public" and general public = LSU fans since the game is in the dome.
