it's all about the money. As long as it's flowing in, Alleva is safe.

"why now?"

Joe Alleva gave the highest-profile and highest-paying job in the state of Louisiana to a severely unqualified candidate. Furthermore, he extended a handcuffing $12 million buyout to said applicant.

If that’s not reason enough to fire Alleva, I give up. Let’s not forget the Miles firing fiasco and the Florida hurricane fiasco that we took hits on nationally and Financially because of Alleva’s wreckless and irrational ability to manage PR.

To add fuel to the fire, and obviously the catalyst that has this “review” taking place amongst donations drying up, Alleva approves an embarrassing OC hire that allowed the HC to complete a lie to the fanbase.

And honestly, even if one doesn’t agree with firing Alleva because of the above items, Alleva has lost the support of the fanbase. Whether right or wrong, he’s lost it and is going to have troubles moving the Ath dept forward give his current approval rating ... he’s effectively a lame duck AD. It’s time for new blood and new leadership in the athletic department.

LSU's 2018 football season will determine Alleva's fate. If LSU wins 10 or more, Alleva will survive. If LSU wins less than 10, then Alleva is gone.

This season is all in from the standpoint of coaches and AD. Only Aranda is safe. And Aranda isn't worried because he will find a job immediately.

The Jindal appointed BOS still have a majority of votes and will continue to have those votes until June, 2018, when their terms expire. The BOS are to blame for the ridiculous handling of the Miles termination, non termination, termination and The Search undertaken by Alleva.
Jindal hired F. King (over many objections) and also hired Alleva.
Jindal’s disastrous reign still haunts the state.

In a state notoriously known for terrible, corrupt, criminal and ridiculously incompetent governors, Bobby Jindal has absolutely run away with the title of worst governor in the history of the state. That is an accomplishment few could achieve. Early in his career, they said he was a super genius overachiever. They were half right, and in the wrong direction.

Let's have another post like this. We have at least one a day from a poster just desperate to hear the sound of his voice or hungry for feedback.

The BOS is and always has been a patronage opportunity for our politicians, I see very little chance that it will ever be a force for good in any kind of consistent manner. I have no solutions to this delimma, you can say we should vote in better politicians, but the very word politician is a negative, I don't think we have ever had a governor who was both honest and effective at the same time in my lifetime, im 57. Think of who the politicians are where you work, what do they really accomplish? I've seen multiple offices and companies wrecked by these hacks yet they seem to multiply in our corporate culture like cancer cells...

A change in BOS appointees is not, in and of itself, a guarantee for improvement, but that should be obvious to everyone whose posting on this thread.

Thanks for your concern, though!

It should not come as a surprise that one of our best BOS's was when LSU hired both Emmert and Saban. I credit Charlie Weems with a lot of that good stewardship. Our state budget was in better shape then, too, so that helped.
I think this governor will make much better appointments to the BOS than Jindal (not exactly a high bar), but I have not be enthusiastic about all of them so far.
