. UL has a decent basketball program and a good baseball program. Football, not so much

The football program has been better than the basketball program for the last 10 years.

The basketball program was good in the early 2000s before they got popped by the NCAA. Since then they have only won 1 conf title, have 1 Nit appearance, and 1 NCAA tourney apperance.

I was unaware of the fans at the baseball game. I graduated from UL last year and didn’t really pay much attention to their sports programs until I went there.

There was a significant number of baws basically trying to fight everybody down the left field line from what I remember. Pretty sure we stopped scheduling them for a while because of it.

The football thing will never happen. However a basketball rivalry would be fun. Besides Basketball to be honest is the #3 sport out of the top 3 so why not have a blood/guts rivalry to spice it up

If ULL wanted to play LSU more they would not have pulled the crap they pulled last year. Even if they feel the way the coach telegraphed.. it is better to keep your mouth shut and play your game in a quietly confident way. They would have gotten more games and more money. Really kind of stupid. Tulane talked themselves out of a lot of money in football with their egos.

And just to let everyone know, I’m an LSU fan who graduated from UL. I’ll pull for the Cajuns but I’m LSU all the way.

Being a fan or alum of one doesn't prevent you from supporting the other as some would have you believe. You can do both and live your life just fine.

I really get a kick out of you "basketball is 3rd at LSU" people. At this precise moment, probably. But there was a time here when baseball was in the midst of 5 ncs over 15 yrs or so, and we had Shaq, CJ, Stanley playing roundball. The hoops was clearly 2nd in BR at the time, and a strong case could be made it was first during the late Archer and Curley yrs. Wade is going to have basketball FIRMLY entrenched at 2 VERY shortly.

1 L per loss for ULL and by state law there is no such school in Louisiana as "UL" or "Louisiana".

Will Wade deserves respect for the way he stood up for the program after that shite head Marlin took shots at the program and the PMAC.

Also, it’s U L LAFAYETTE! Not just UL. just like LSU isn’t just LS. The official name is UL-Lafayette. Not UL. That’s why people hate you delusional pricks. You are not Louisiana. Period.

ULL is simply trying to be something more than they really are. They are chartered as a regional university in the State. They are not a Flagship State University which is what they have tried to portray themselves as being.

Because ULM students and alum are proud to be ULM slumi and student's. They know who they are, they own it, they enjoy, and they are proud. They don't attempt to be something they are not. For all the knocks I have against that school and city I'll always defend them for that cause I think that's awesome!
