"We still get good players."

"He was recruited early by them."

"They can offer more."

That's what I was told when I made a similar thread. Who knows? Maybe he gets drafted and we dodge a bullet.

They have been several threads on him and other high profile recruits leaving Louisiana this year. Kids are not as fired up playing for their home state university and for Paul as in years past.

because of PAWL!!

honestly people are going to make all kinds of excuses and most will say we prefer out of state kids more. Dumb as shite and it will haunt LSU for a couple years.

When McDonnell takes over, look for recruiting to improve!

Apparently the staff takes as much care in recruiting in state pitchers as you do when figuring out where to start a thread.

I've looked on several lists of top baseball prospects and have not seen his name or any player from LA. LSU has several top players committed(tho they'll probably sign MLB)

I believe he committed to MS State in 2018. LSU was just coming off a CWS Runner up while MS State had just fired Andy Cannizaro and hired Chris Lemonis. Odd timing there.

Have you not seen Ms. States facilities? Plus, Davis Meche is there and he is also from Barbe. Jack may have a friendship with Davis and wants to be teammates.

I was told this isn't a factor in recruiting.

Probably doesn’t want to develop any elbow pain. Smart move!

He had Tommy John surgery once already just last year.

Also looks like he was only the 15th best player in Louisiana last year. He must have really improved since having surgery.

Is an up vote agreeing with this question or is a down vote saying I would not want to play for CPM?

1) Baseball rankings are shite. LSU had the number 1 ranking in 2018. Those players should be Juniors now and doing badass things for LSU. Only a couple are.

2) The surgery is like hitting the reset button. The surgery itself doesn't help kids throw harder or better; it's the 8 months of rehab on the shoulder to improve everything from strength and flexibility to mechanics. If players did this on their own and held to a true throwing program taking 4 months off first, then they would see improvements, too. That's simply not feasible though.
