when he first hurt the acl he was gaurding iverson.he was a senior and iverson was a jumior and livingston was teaching him fundamentals.and they were in michigan.
I always heard from high school basketball coaches that he tore his acl during a dunking contest at one of the showcase camps.

Livingston was simply on a different level. Like someone mentioned, I watched him make scrub teammates into good players.
I remember watching him in HS. For the 1st q and most of the second, he did very little. The game was close, then with 2 minutes left in the half he just explodes.
In the 2nd half Buras made another run at them. RL takes over again. In a little over a minute he hit's a 3, steals it, monster reverse slam, steals it, monster reverse slam, steals it, hits a 3. It was amazing. He took over only when he needed to. I think he ended up with 30+ pts, 10+ rebs, 20+ assists, and close to 10 steals.

I saw him play in High School. He had a few problems with knee injuries even back then. Had the potential to an NBA all-star

I saw Livingston play in high school. He was DEFINITELY the next big thing!!! Unbelievable!!! He could shoot the three, passed the ball very well, good court vision, could leap out the gym.

Livingston really was pretty nasty when he was healthy. He and Ronnie Henderson could have been a legendary backcourt...

people don't realize the kids awesome potential at onetime, well he's not a kid anymore Livingston that is, I played with him back in the day on the streets of N'Awlins and he was a kid competing against us, grown men and holdin his own, he would develop even more and in HS was like a Jason Kidd with explosive leaping ability, jump shot needed more work, but would have gotten better, those knee injuries wrecked his career. he had that ability like Kidd, and Lebron to make everyone around him better.

Who did Newman play for the state Championship his senior year? It was at the PMAC. He was at the free throw line with no time left on the clock and the ball rolled around the rim for an eternity. It just kept rolling around and around and finally went in. I was young back then but after that I told everybody Randy Livingston would be the greatest basketball player to ever come out of Louisiana.

Payton was the in the same class as Randy. Rumor has it that Archie and Payton went to the bball coach and said Payton would play only if he was an immediate starter after joining the team after football season. Coach said no.

Incorrect. Randy was in the class of 1993. Peyton was 1994.

I have seen alot of NBA players during the days when the PMAC hosted the Top 24. Randy Livingston was the best high school basketball player I have ever seen. I think on the NBA level, he would have been a Jason Kidd type guard, except alot better. IMHO, GFY, FWIW, PIIHB, ESAD.
