3-4

And that's just coming from my fandom. I have nothing to get excited about from an expectations point of view. My only solace is that the fricking joke of an athletic administration may get cleaned out if we have a bad year.

Joke coach, no search. Joke OC, no search. Joke AD who did his best to ruin a bunch of LaCrosse players lives at another school

People need to get rid of this mindset.

Kirby Smart wasn't a proven winner. Lincoln Riley, not a proven winner. Both of them were in the playoffs and both coached big programs.

Get a fricking good coach, whether he has the skins on the wall or not. Aranda's a damn good coach. That doesn't guarantee him success but there is no guarantee with any coach.

5 b/c it’s baseball season. After baseball season it’ll go up depending on how the offense looks in the spring game and if anyone notable has been arrested or injured.

Very excited about the defense. Outside of CB I think we'll be better than last season at every position due to experience and health.

Offensively, I'm excited to see how the QB position shakes out. I'm also realistic that there will be growing pains for whoever wins the job.

RB-concerned with no true elite back

WR- excited with all of the talent we have and an emphasis on the passing game.

OL- excited to see what Cregg can do with the line since he has a reputation of being very good with pass protection

Excitement and confidence/optimism are different things. I have no idea how this season will turn out. We could go 10-3/11-2 or 6-6/7-5.

I'm always excited about football season. Optimistic?

Full disclosure: I'm a huge fan of Les Miles - always have been, always will be.
But I love college football and I LOVE LSU football, so I really want to be cautiously optimistic. I think I will have to reevaluate my level of excitement when we get closer to September. Right now, not very hyped...

This is probably the lowest I've felt since Dinardo's last year. Probably about a 6.

10 As a life long Tiger fan and not a fair weather fan, I am always optimistic. Coach O has put together an impressive staff. A lot to be happy about.

wow I can't believe you just said that! It's the qualities he brings to the table. Does he have the leadership ability and qualities to be the CEO of a team or does he not? There are no guarantees. Everyone should just chill out and wait and see what happens. There are no guarantees one way or another.

But you folks dont give a shite about any of that, the sport for you is the coach and/or the AD. The actual team and actual games are secondary and are only used to advance your agenda about the coach.

The OP didn’t ask “How excited are you for the Miami game” or “How excited are you to see Rashard and D White terrorize the SEC”.

He said “How excited are you about LSU Football”, which most without an agenda recognize as meaning the overall direction of the football program.

I went on to state why I feel there is little to be optimistic about if once again being a championship program is what we want for LSU.

As for talking about the “actual games”, that seems to be what actually gets many of YOU so upset.

See, the “actual games” such as MSU, Troy, ND, Florida, etc is what contributes to my overall impression of the state of the program.

That doesn’t mean I won’t be as excited as anyone for Labor Day weekend and the start of CFB, but I no longer expect to be as excited in November and January.

And given the “Young team thats very athletic, a great class coming in and better O and D lines than we have had in years”, all of which I agree with, that leaves one very glaring weakness which is the obvious reason for my lack of optimism.

I don’t have an agenda. I answered a question posed in the OP.

If you disagree with my answer, I assume that means you think those “actual games” I mentioned will not be losses?

I hope you are right, I truly do.

But something tells me in November you will be back here and you’ll be less excited about the “Young team thats very athletic, a great class coming in and better O and D lines than we have had in years”, because if all of that is true, it wouldn’t fit your agenda about the coach if we are looking back at another disappointing season that didn’t meet expectations

Don't know, but you can't know that until he gets the job. He's the CEO of the defense and he's damn good at it.

Not optimistic. until having a decent QB is a priority, look for a season minimum of 4 losses. Same song every season.

1... Not very excited at all. This is the lowest I’ve been since the Curley Hallman days... I have a hard time getting excited when I know the coach that we have has no business being a head coach at a university like LSU and he’s driving it into the ground. The only excitement that I have is knowing we will have Aranda another year or two otherwise it would be Zereaux.

Spoiler: we've already gotten worse and it's gonna get a lot worse before it gets better.

I'm excited as hell to tailgate with friends and watch football.

I'm apathetic about LSU football. I expect a 6-6 season, and winning more than that might actually hurt us more in the long run. It sucks, but it's the truth.
