I’m always excited about football season. Not excited about Orgeron. Overall, I guess about a 4 because I’m not expecting much.

at coaching or at recruiting? Saban has no equal when it comes to recruiting. He's been able to put together the greatest collection of college players year after year. Just based on pure coaching (and taking out the recruiting element) there are plenty of coaches as good or better.

there are no great cfb coaches that cant recruit. being able to sell your program is,by far, the most important aspect of college football coaching.

Nick Saban while an elite recruiter is also an elite defensive mind. in every aspect of coaching Saban gets an A.

Exactly. Saban climbed his way up the coaching ladder by being an elite X’s and O’s guy.

So fan negativity is worse than losing to Troy for you?

yes, losing to troy was only one game and not a very meaningful one at that. I was pissed for the week, but by the next Saturday, I was over it.

fan negativity tempers my enjoyment of the games that we win (you may have been too busy sulking about losing the troy game to notice, but we did have a damn good run and won a good number of games last year)

8. Very excited to see how the Quarterbacks look seeing as highly sought out Brennan and Narcisse were. If the offense comes around we should be a top 10 team.

Also I hope to see a running back take charge early.

not so.
Saban did not become all of that until he went to Miami and was forced to see and plan for the game differently.
His records at LSU
8-4
10-3
8-5
13-1
9-3
Only in one year he did not lose 3 or more games

I'm excited for everything that LSU football being back entails. There is nothing better than a Saturday in the fall with your buddies or your family cheering on the Tigers. Even better if you're in Baton Rouge or an opposing teams city.

That said, I have zero expectation or excitement around the quality of product we will put on the field. My prediction, the same as it has been for the last 5 years, is 9-3. If it's better, great. Worse, oh well.

LSU football is much more experiential for me now. The outcome doesn't really matter. It's about spending time with the people I care about around one of the things that ties us together the most. I love that part.

Well said. This is where I'm at, too.

I really don't care about the outcome this season.

Even if we suck, it's still great to have football on with family/friends.

More excited than I've been the last few years. Maybe we'll have better quarterback, O-line, and WR play. Worse talent at RB, but the other positions are more important.

Apparently this is the thread where all the depressed, pessimistic people are.

I am always a 10 on excitement level for football season. And, I always predict we’ll go undefeated and win the national championship. I was almost right once.

I’ve been following LSU since about 1982. I wasn’t sure we would ever win another NC. When we won in ‘03, I thought my football life was complete. Then we got a bonus in ‘07.

I hope we win every game. I’ve never hated an LSU coach. But, I do hate a lot of our “fans”.

WRONG.. You can recuit all you want.. But once at A school ..development of a player is way more important...

Example.. Saban has turned 3 star players into 5 star players.. Not many coaches can do that... AND As many LSU players that have been drafted the last few years... I ASSURE you if Saban and Miles/O were both at A recruis house at the same time...98% of the players would go with Saban............

10. I'm a die hard and always will be. I don't care if we lose every game, it'll still be a 10 for the following season.
