Tolan replaced Penn late in the game and in OT.

How does this question not get asked to BK?

Is Penn injured? Is Tolan now the new ILB?

Greg Penn sucks. He gets beat all over the field.

30 looked bad most of the game, unfortunately.

I noticed a few missed tackles by him and out of position frequently.

Penn is an old school run stopping style LB…unfortunately, he’s out of position…a lot.

Penn does not tackle very good. There was a long run by JG that Penn missed the tackle at the line of scrimmage

This is exactly why the question needed to be asked

Is Tolan now the starter?

I think he is often out of position and is not nearly fast enough to make up for it.

Opening play of the 4thQ I think it was where Penn completely whiffed at the LOS and it ended up being a 50 yard run.

Big momentum swing.

Best win in TS in a damn long time and we still have "shite on the players" talkers on here. All you shitters can GTFO as far as I concerned.

Trust that the coaches are doing their job and support these guys through thick and thin.

Lol at y’all giving Penn shite for missing a tackle on Gibbs. Gibbs is a fricking monster and has made many elite players look silly

I hate fans shitting on players. Y’all were the same losers talking shite about Daniels and Taylor a few weeks ago

Yep. 1 on 1 in the hole

He also got shook bad by Latu in coverage on the 2nd play of the game that resulted in a big gainer

He's not bringing a lot to the table

I've watched him. It's true that he is out of position a lot, but not by much. He is a step away, and he might gain that step with another season. He's still young.

DeMario Tolan, on the other hand, looks natural. He will start next season, for sure. On one of the edge plays, he fights through two blockers and makes the tackle. Impressive play!

Fwiw I thought Tolan looked good when he was in there. He was some sideline-to-sideline ability that Penn may not have

Yep, true sophomore. And you can barely count last year in terms of player development.

What people are saying about him mirrors what people were saying about Baskerville a few years ago. Penn will likely be a big part of this defense over the next 2 years.

Honestly think penn is playing a bit too heavy. Looks a step slow.prob needs to drop 15 lbs get a little more speed and quickness.

I hope the coaches don’t have this mentality. You can have a more nuanced approach than “we won so everyone was good”

One of the long runs off the end Penn #30 was being held to his credit. Yes, he is not very good. Where do you hide the the week link on your team? Corner and a and starting linebacker is our weak link on D.

I agree losing weight might help Penn.

Tolan looked pretty good from what little I saw. His injury slowed him down to start the year. I think he can handle being a 3 down LBer eventually. Kid has great tools.
