He’s the reason we are what we are now, but frick him.
More so Emmett and a few key members of TAF but going after Saban turned out to be a genius move.
This group finally stopped LSU’s insistence on trying do everything as cheap as possible.

I disagree. LSU had just as much to do with Nick sabans success as he did ours. Someone else would have won a natty here and got things rolling if it wasn't him. LSU athletics dept put a big investment in lsu football and that's what made us what we are today. It benefitted him greatly by becoming LSUs football coach.

How do you view Saban, now that so much time has passed?
As soon as he retires from Alabama, build a statue.

Don’t like him, but respect him as a coach. (He is wound so tight, though.)

It’s true, everything and everywhere you here the name Alabama Football , you could substitute LSU in that space and “WE” would be the dynasty of college football.

He signed a big, fat contract, and said he wasn't leaving LSU, and then he left the next year. If he wanted to make the jump, I can't hold that against anyone. But he didn't have to sign that contract, if that was the case. He signed it, and then screwed us.
That is normal operating procedure in college athletics. Very, very rarely is a coach in the last year of his contract. If he is, it's the basis of a lot of negative recruiting.
The way the system works, everyone has to lie about whether they will stay or whether they will leave because the cost of telling the truth can be career ending. For this reason, I don't hold those lies against them.
My opinion about Saban is that he is the greatest coach of all time relative to running a whole program. And, it pisses me off that we had him, there was no way to keep him, and he ended up at the one true blue-blood that we have to play every year.
Makes beating him sweet.
GEAUX TIGERS!

I don’t now, and never really did, view him as a traitor.
he is not and never was a Tiger.
he was and is a good coach and left LSU even though he was the highest paid HC.
it's BS about he and his wife loving the Baton Rouge area and the great number of friends they left behind.
ok, he's not a traitor; and he never was a Tiger.

Iowa Capital One Bowl +’F’er ruined my 2004 Christmas w/his NFL presser. Just 1 year earlier was chanting “10 more years” in his stage presser w/1000 of my best LSU friends in Nola Sheraton for 2003 NCG.
Time heals and turns out he is above adequate football coach. If he wore purple n gold tmr, I would be shouting “10 more years” again.

Saban was the prom queen that left your arse and married your hated enemy. We all knew he was winning a NC at Alabama. We didn’t know how soon or how many.
It wasn’t like Saban was winning 11/12 games per year at LSU though. He is responsible iMHO for 2003 and 2007 NC’s at LSU. Miles doesn’t win 07 without Saban priming the program.
Saban is Bill Belichek of college football. I do believe recruiting is sketchy AF in Alabama but LSU isn’t innocent as a Virgin either.

He is the GOAT and I hate him for ditching us...But love what he did while he was here...He changed the culture.

I never had a problem with Saban, I've despised Alabama for 50 years, i hate them equally before and after Saban.

I view him like many others things that are talked about too much here. The guy lives in y’all’s head rent free. The constant dick measuring with him and “what if?” is embarrassing. He’s gone and ain’t coming back. He’s also a massive prick.

The closest thing to Lombardi that exists today...I love it on those very rare occasions when we beat him...treat it like a national holiday...
