He did great things for LSU. He set us up for long term success, and he changed the mentality of this program.
Sometimes I think about what kind of dynasty he would have had at LSU.
I was mad at first, but I’m more grateful now that he raised the bar of the program. Although, I do miss how Tiger Stadium was during the Saban years.

Thankful for his time and turning LSU into what it is He’s the best to ever do it But frick him and Alabama

GOAT and it’s not close. He would have won even more titles if he had never left LSU.

Pissed that he revived a program that didn't deserve the success it's had over the past 15 years.
Grateful for reviving LSU and 2003.

I just wish he had gone outside the SEC when he returned to college. I still haven't forgiven Rich Rod.

It was just a matter of timing. He was always going to the NFL so and when he came back, there was no way back to LSU. Maybe I hated him a bit for going to Bama but then I don’t know if there was a better opportunity for him in college at that point.

I think one thing that gets lost is there is zero way Saban stays after a 2nd national title. Either way at some point he's going to the NFL. There is no timeline where he stays at LSU past 06 or 07
Saban landing at Bama was simply bad luck. Great coach who bumped our program up another level ever since.

Great coach... not much on sticking to what he says. But hey, who really believed he wasn't leaving Miami for bama.

Nick Saban…..GOAT……not even close……Saban did plenty good while he was a Tiger for thr LSU program.

The only thing I hold against Saban is coming back to college football with Alabama. Damn you Dave Shula!

I mean how could and LSU fan not be overly drawn to Saban. He coach here and would have never left if he wasn’t given a king’s ransom to leave. Now he is at our biggest rival and kicking ours and everyone else arse for years.
I wish Bama hired him 1st then he came here. They just got so lucky. All we can hope for now is O turns the tide or at least wins against them every couple of years. It’s hard to do with the way the Tide cheat in every way possible.

Best Coach in College Football

Greatest coach ever. Followed his dreams to the NFL and realized he made a mistake. So he went to the place where he could be worshipped. Gave us a championship so he is alright to me. Just wish he would retire.

Yeah, same here. He's the GOAT of college football coaches, so I respect him for sure, I just hate that he's doing it at Bama. But he won a championship here, so there's that.

Saban is GOAT.
LSU is lucky to have had him. He really changed the atmosphere at LSU and brought real hope to the football program.

He was the one who kickstarted the golden age of LSU football. It was a great time to be a student when he was at the helm. A lot of great memories.
You can’t fault him for wanting to get back in the SEC. Bama was the job that opened up when Zach Thomas wanted to kick his arse, and he went running for the hills, so he had to do what he had to do.

He is an excellent college football coach.
He SEEMS LIKE a miserable human being.
Hopefully, I'm wrong on that second part, or that at least he finds some happiness as he grows old.

If you're not committed, don't sign that contract. We're not talking about the contract he signed to come to LSU, this is the contract EXTENSION that made him the HIGHEST PAID coach in America.
And your "literally" comment isn't even true, because lot's of guys have turned down extra money to stay where they are, because they are committed to where they are. If Saban wasn't, that's fine. Then just leave. Don't sign a big fat extension and then bolt almost immediately.
