Holding down YAC will be crucial.

The problem with that is that at least one of these three (or four) WR's will beat that every time. Then it's off to the races.

Yep. Alabama will get their yards - plenty of nickle and dime down the field. I think the goal will be to hold them to field goals once they get into the red zone/short field opportunities.

This, their fg game is weak. They can drive, just gotta stop them around the 30. Slightly shorter field at that point will hopefully give our D the advantage it needs to stop the tide.

I would expect him to implement Clemson’s game plan. A lot of show one thing pre snap and run something completely different post snap. A lot of pre snap reads and confusion by the switch.

It'll take coverage that's stronger than nickel...maybe platinum, or at least palladium.

Blitzing all day. Using Vincent as a blitzer and disguising who he’s covering when he’s in coverage.

Man coverage with safety help. All I know is if we play that shite defense we played against Texas, first half Florida or even Vandy, we are fricked. Our linebackers can’t guard for shite and safeties have t looked great. We have to get some pressure because if Tau has all day in the pocket, they will score. How many third and longs have we seen converted when we had a three man rush be completed for a first. Dozens

Yeah I think this is me honestly. I get playing coverage and keeping everything in front. But I kinda want both the offense and defense to play balls out. Bring pressure and TIGHT press man to get the WR timing off

It really depends on how our offense comes out and if we can't really score or not

i wouldn’t be surprised if Aranda is more aggressive, someone to play that Dwayne Thomas role (maybe Stevens, he scares me in coverage).

It's pick your poison. We're going to drop 8 in coverage and they're going to run the ball down our throats.

Blitz blitz and blitz some more...test the mobility of Tua or the more pro style back up...

disrupting the short passing lanes seems like the best game plan

That's a huge key. Along with the zone and sure tackling. If you force everything underneath and force Bama to hit slant after slant to move the ball eventually a mistake happens. Timing is off, a D lineman gets his hands up, a penalty (yeah yeah I know its Bama). Causes a drive to stall.

Furthermore we take a play from Saban, drop a DE or OLB into the passing line after showing blitz. Similar to how Saban did Jason White in 2003.

Why give a QB with a bum ankle time to throw??? Why sit back on a back up that isn’t a threat at mobility and hasn’t proven capable to make the big throws

100% Agree

They have to man up at the LOS with Bama’s WR’s and be physical with them when they come off the line. Make them earn every catch while disrupting their routes making Tua hold onto the ball longer than he usually does.

For some reason though, I don’t see Aranda doing this a whole lot which makes absolutely no sense.

With Tua and his high ankle sprain, I am thinking they will try to confuse him with different coverages. I am guessing he won't be scrambling too much and therefore, we can drop more into coverage. We need to stay strong on the run though.

Go watch how Georgia defended Tua in last years SEC Championship game. Disguised coverages, LB blitzes, stunts to pressure the QB.
