I have zero confidence in "soft, drop 8, Aranda. If we play scared they will bust the clock.

Aranda will have to scheme each play with anticipation of what is being ran. Cant go straight man and cant play zone all day. Aranda has to win the chess match each play to put our corners in position to make plays.

We need to get physical with them. Alabama loves to do that RPO slant shite A LOT. We need to shut that down.

Speed aside, Jeudy is their best player and Stingley will be lining up with him.

Not unless Stingley plays the nickel he's not. That's what scary about that game, Carry Vincent will be covering Jeudy.

No one has really shut down this group of receivers, and they're all a matchup problem. Pressure on a less mobile Tua and disrupting the short passing lanes seems like the best game plan

I have a feeling we will be cursing Delpit's name multiple times for missing tackles that wind up turning into a 15 yard pass play.

Have you been asleep for the past four games? As Delpit has played great, especially in the Moo State game. Now he did miss a lot of tackles in the first four games of the season, but in the last four games, he's actually played very well.

Meanwhile, the reason why Delpit was missing so many tackles was that he had a hurt shoulder. So because he was compensating for the injury, he didn't rap up like he usually does and ended up missing a lot of tackles. However, the missing of tackles all ended right after the bye cause his shoulder was healed.

Whatever they do they must tackle. Can’t let a 5 yard slant or crossing route turn into a 60 yd touchdown

Add in Nagee Harris who is also a pretty good receiving threat.... gotta get pressure on Tua because you already know they are scheming to get ball out fast.

Unfortunately if they dont get a pass rush on Tua he will pick them apart.
If it’s the other QB then I’d take my chances dropping 8

I think we play some exotic looks that are mix of man and zone with a couple of free blitzes...for example come out with 3 DL, 3 LB, 5 DB (nickel) and rush the 3 DL, 1 LB, and the slot DB and a safety...remaining safety reverts to cover 1, DBs on the outside play man, 2 LB dropping in coverage. This should force a quick slant in which the LB should pick or knock the ball loose on the slot receiver or a go route by the slot that is covered by the remaining safety...Fulton and Stingley have to hold their own, other LB is either on TE or RB or delayed blitz depending on look he sees..basically disguise the defense to force the throw you want them to make and make the play...One Team One Heartbeat!!! Just do your job!!

We have looked awful trying to play a prevent style defense. Trask picked our soft zone apart with our corners playing 10 yards or more off the line. Texas picked us apart. Alabama sure the frick will too.
When we brought the heat, the pressure made Trask fold and Florida did not do shite in the second half. Bo Nix was throwing the ball into the ground and couldn’t do shite.
We must play tight and get pressure. If we drop back is soft zone they will destroy this defense.
We have two corners that can cover and then we suffer after that. Can’t let Tau have 4-6 seconds to pick us apart.

My biggest concern is Aranda having our nickle corner(Vincent) playing 5-7 yards off the slot WR. Ehlinger/Devin Duvernay abused our defense from the slot.

I agree but the defense I described has us rushing 5-6 depending on the look seen by the extra LB and they are disguised and somewhat delayed depending on the look...how many do you think we should rush with Jeudy, Ruggs, and Waddle on the field? Are trying to go 3 on 3 with 1 LB/DB depending on package and rushing 7????

Vincent has looked better of late. Still, I think LSU ends up chasing a 2 TD deficit most of the game.

Putting pressure on their Offense to score often would be our best bet.

This game will be won by our Offense.....get a stop or two on D BUT score on their arse early & often.

This is the 1st time in a LONG time they actually will be worried about our Offense.

Aranda is going to drop into coverage and seek to make tackles quickly after the catch.

This will infuriate LSU fans.

Alas, if you don't do that, you probably give up at least 3 pass plays of 60+ yards with these wideouts.

Play the same defense we used in the second half of the Florida game that shut Trask down. Trask went from looking like Tom Brady to completely shut down. We must have pressure and to get pressure we have to rush at least 5.

I want to see our DBs up tight on the line of scrimmage and playing physical to prevent them from getting into their routes. We can push Tua one way to make it easier for the safety and LBs to read where he's going, essentially cutting the field in half.

I still believe the key will be stopping the run and screen game. If we need too much help in the running game from the secondary, they're going to burn us. If we can make them one dimensional, we're athletic enough on the back end to limit them.
