Defensive line was fine. Safeties and linebackers were suspect

How many tackles did Ferrell have? He seems to be in on almost every play when he is in the game. He is much more active than our starters and plays each play until the whistle blows.

Though Ika played for a few snaps when Shelvin came out in the 3rd?

Negative. He did not participate, unless the LSU stat sheet is wrong. Which I highly doubt because it take a full day to put together.

You thought the amount of pressure they were getting on passing downs was “fine”? Ok

Too many times last night Ehlinger had all day to throw. When Aranda sent a blitz or stunt it almost always hit home. Curious as to why he didn't use it more in those 3rd and long situations

Because Ehlinger can and will burn you with his legs big time. We played contain all night. In hindsight, I think Aranda did underestimate their short game and running back capabilities. It happens. Pair that with the fact that they apparently didn’t hydrate properly and when we went up 20 to 7 at the half, I think the defense got overconfident. Keep in mind that if it wasn’t for one blown coverage by Fulton, we would have shut them out in the first half.

I’m just amazed at the low football IQ most of the posters here have. I guess it shouldn’t shock me though. The average football fan never played or had any association with football on any real competitive level. Most only know low level high school play at best.

I'm disappointed too, but we're not allowed to discuss it here. Every time I joined this topic last night, a wussy administrator whacked it.

Seemed like Aranda called off the dogs in the second half. Playing very soft and giving the receivers large cushions. Almost like a prevent D at times.

Wut?

The first half was when he played a base defense the whole time with only four d lineman. I don't like the bend don't break crap like that, but Aranda knows much more about this than my dumbass.
UT probably did some things we weren't totally ready for and he thought it was just better to try to not give up the big plays. The defense will be fine.

They were playing containment. Texas also averaged only 3.2 ypc runnng the ball. They played well.

Too late for this season to recruit better on the dline, so I guess we have to go with more HGH in the roux...

If the qb has all day you know it makes the guys in coverage run more right?

I don’t think the dline played bad but our 4 were not getting to ehlinger

Divinity is the one who held two blocks on the second fourth and goal.

DL was asked to bullrush every play.Dumb scheme that is not sustainable. Lawrence was destroying his man for most of the first half.
