In his defense he was running around wide open a lot of the game. Now his pouty attitude is on him and he deserves to get called out for that

I don’t know if wants to quit but responding to a loss that he played his part in by Instagram purging is not the sign of a stable mind. Certainly not that of a leader.

Just the new false narrative that everyone on here created about a kid. Happens every year so they can all find someone to blame. Shame

What?? That’s the signs of someone wanting to get away from the toxicity, that can bring you down even more. He’s trying to fix issues now, and social media is definitely one of them. Social media is what’s wrong with our society. All the players should follow suit. I see this as nothing but a good thing. Social media is fricked anyways, and we’d all be better off without it.

I honestly believe we need to support the players more than hate on them. Obviously we as fans hold them accountable when they screw up, but we have no idea what’s going on with Boutte, and shouldn’t turn on him after one game.

You ever played sports before? Players aren’t always on the same page. Confusion happens. He didn’t quit on the play, he just wasn’t ready. Wasn’t on the same page as Daniels. Still his fault, and he’s responsible for not executing on the play, but to say he quit on the play, insinuates something completely different.
I agree with you. However, "quitting on the team" and "quitting on the play" are two different things. I see defenders "quit on the play" all the time.

Regardless of the meaning of the word "quitting" he is a star WR running a slant into the end zone with the game on the line and you are the #1 target and you don't look up much less flash your numbers?

That is not a communication or page issue. You are a WR on a slant going into the end zone... it is assumed you are going to be looking for, ready for, and wanting that ball.

He did not quit on the team. He might not have quit on the play. He damn sure lost his spot as the #1 WR on that play though. Everybody knew he was the guy for that moment, including Daniels, who threw on target, on time, into bracket coverage because of his faith in Boutte.

And he didn't even look up.

This is false.

Jogged his route cause he was pouting about previous play. Ball clearly hits him and he never looked. That was an atrocious display of effort. I call that quitting on a play.

I have no idea if Boutte wants to quit or not but I do know:

1. Your #1 receiver catches that pass in the endzone on first possession.
2. Ball hit off his arm on 3rd and goal and he wasn’t looking for the pass.
3. He dropped 2 other passes right in his hands
4. He was acting like it was everyone else’s fault on sidelines.

I hope he gets his head right but if not so be it. LSU isn’t going anywhere anyway this season mind as well play the guys who want to play for lsu and start building for the future.

His body language was 100x louder than his mouth and his social media behavior.

You delete or deactivate your account if you want to get rid of toxicity, not scrub LSU from your profile like a toddler having a tantrum immediately following a loss that you contributed to

He’s a head case. The sooner you accept this the sooner it will all make sense. It’s really not that hard to piece together, this isn’t an isolated instance of him being frustrated. He’s made it clear over the off-season he’s not interested in being here.

If Vegas were to post odds today on him suiting up against A&M, no would be the favorite.

We need to support players who want to play. It doesn’t have to be for love of LSU - I’d settle for a little personal pride & competitive spirit.

I used to say this half-heartedly, but where we are at now… I’d genuinely rather have a guy like Bech out there throwing shoulders at DBs over a first round pick doing his best AB impression.

This, plus the fact that he had to be paid big money to stay here as someone else mentioned. If you want to be the best WR in CFB and win awards, you catch the tough ones and don't complain like he is.

You want to be a star? Act like one and not like a little bitch when the going gets tough.

Boutte doesn't want to quit. He wants daniels to quit running. Actually play quarterback in college football.

He got more targets than anyone else. 7 leaving in those wiped out by penalties.

You mean like throwing 35 pass attempts that resulted in 4 different receivers catching 5 passes? You mean like Jaray Jenkins catching both of his touchdown passes while Boutte drops both of his?

He wants Daniels to stop averaging 7 yards per carry while every other RB hopes to get 3?

Seems like Boutte should want to catch the fricking ball, which might take care of the impulse to externalize the blame.
