When I peruse the portal needs for '26 thread, we're in almost as bad of shape as we were after '21.

Were there no red flags in South Bend?

I think none of us counted on him mailing it in. Not sure if it started this way, but by the end he appeared to just be collecting a paycheck

There were ample red flags. ND fans tried to warn everyone but came across as salty....

Unfortunately, live by the portal, die by the portal. You can go out and buy the best players available for positions of need, but you will be replacing those every year because they will more than likely jump to the NFL or be out of eligibility. Portal needs to be a few plug and players but if your are failing to evaluate and develop then you are fighting a losing battle. Kelly sucked balls

I was so upset at the BK hire, but this place was quick to talk down the doubters. I think I was mostly relieved it wasn't Napier.

10 year contract to a 60 year old. Probably won’t end well

Go look at Notre Dame’s yearly schedule. Kelly was successful coaching the Irish as is Marcus Freeman mainly due to the soft schedule they play. Unfortunately, Kelly didn’t bring the same schedule to Baton Rouge. Look at the non sec teams ranked in the top 12, they all play a soft schedule.

LSU admin always ignores red flags; they are choosing to ignore the Lane Train red flags.

My first reaction was "damn I wanted Lane." My second reaction was "Thank God we didn't get Billy Napier." My next thought was "Never pictured Brian Kelly as an option to be the LSU Football Coach."

Didn't see it flaming out quickly and did think he was going to be get a Championship appearance if not win it like the other Coaches but from everything thats been reported/leaked about him and Woodward over his tenure makes sense it ended the way it did.

Not sure I get that, what resume? He doesn't know the SEC, hasn't won the BCS. Sure he had winning records, can't deny that.

I don't recall him ever being on anyone's radar for the job. I was like WTF why when we hired him.

Things were going right until Daniels left. He couldn’t develop a QB and got lazy
