How did Nebraska do it?

The unthinkable. The unimaginable. The unbelievable task of beating Southeastern.

Didn't just beat them, spanked them by a combined 22-1.

I would say, SLU was just a bad match up for us, but we barely beat Conn, so I think we just had a horrific two days of softball.

Beth just needs more time and most of all NIL money.

Impressive that they beat tMighty Lions twice.

LSU really does deserve better when it coms to softball. Her ability to do less with more is impressive.

What dictates a bad matchup for softball?

Fast slappers vs a horrific 3rd base player

Give her half of Beth’s salary to transfer.

A team that makes singles, doubles or walks, doubles. Can score from 1st on a single. Puts the ball in play and forces you to think fast, etc.
Basically a contact, running team vs. a terrible fundamental defensive team
Guess which one LSU was.
I thought we had enough offense to still defeat them, but Tori didn't do anything in the regional and that set the tone.
It was obvious Nebraska pitching just over powered SLU and obvious that Nebraska works a lot harder in practice on defense than LSU.
Still don't know why Heavener didn't get the start in the 2nd game against them. She's the only one that has real strikeout ability for LSU.

Best pitcher in the country doesn’t hurt.

Obviously must be the menstrual cycle issues. I mean what the frick kind of question is this. Because it’s softball w girls there’s no such things as matchup issues and styles of play?

That’s a lot of words to say you do not know either.

Edwards really faded over the last few series and into postseason. The same was true of Bergeron. That cut the heart out of what had been a consistently potent offense most of the season. I know most on here don’t want to deal in nuance and are just out for blood, but inexperience definitely played a role.

I get that she risked losing the game to SLU to increase their chances of taking two from Nebraska. I think she made the right call to try to win the regional, but it definitely opened the door to even deeper criticism with not even making the final and losing twice to SLU. Where she messed up was starting Clopton instead of Vallejo. Clopton hadn’t pitched well in almost a month, while Vallejo had experience against SLU from her McNeese days.
