Woodward hired Kim and over paid. It’s a sport no one actually cares about.

His one good hire is Jay, which was outstanding.

BK- was a splash hire but when you dig into the numbers there were red flags all around that he wasn’t a nc level coach.

His other hire Matt McLoser is easily the worst coach in the modern LSU basketball era and he chose to keep him.

The two biggest sports at LSU and only money makers Scott has done the following as AD.

Gave O an extension with a dumb buyout as no one was coming for him.

Hires BK and until this year our NIL was majority lagging in football

Basketball-
Fires Wade because he is the last major ad scared of the dead ncaa, hires Matt McLoser, then keeps him and of course our nil in basketball was in worse shape than football.

At least in a sport important to us he made the correct hire but then in the rev share he disrespects our two time ncaa winning coach.

It’s not a good look that our two biggest sports are dumpster fires and our NIL was a disaster

On Matt Moscona show last night

Matt Moscona has zero information to give and knows nothing. He regurgitates what someone else says and claims it as his own.

He made a hugely disastrous hire in BK costing the program years and accomplishing exactly nothing. How can he be allowed to bring on another football HC? He needs to go.

Hindsight, baw. The vast majority of fans were very pleased with the hire of Kelly at the time. It turns out that he was not the right choice.

It is also believed that Woodward did not have a say in Kelly's firing.

It sounded like a bar fight in his office during his meeting with Kelly. So I'd say he had a word or two.

Can they locate a youngish coach who has a vision of building perhaps a self-sustaining system in place, someone who can establish a process that works in this NIL/portal madness? The money spent on this roster was a waste of effort.

People weren’t happy about BK. Plenty hated him for years before the hire and he was palatable because they acted like stoops was going to be hired.

Because the hire is only disastrous in hindsight. At the time he got a coach to leave a major program to coach at ours. And firing him now instead of letting this drag on for the rest of the season is also commendable. I don’t get why people are criticizing Woodward for any of this. He has a pretty good track record of coaching hires in all sports so far.

Out of all the coaches hired during that cycle, Kelly has performed the best. Riley and Napier has been disastrous. Woodward has hired great coaches.

And Mel Tucker! Don’t forget that Mel Tucker was one of the names floating around at the time.

THAT would have been a disastrous hire.

Woodward has been very solid for LSU and everywhere he has been. The BK hire was strong at the time and he has strengthened funding and the future of almost every program.

Don’t be short sighted, even Football is in a strong position to continue to compete for top talent….its considered a top 3 job by everyone.

Honestly $100M guaranteed seems stupid, but you look around & that is what coaches are getting + I’m pleasantly surprised they pulled the trigger so promptly

Well, since 2019 the program has foundered. So there’s that.

As well as the Woodward hire. In fact he was called the best AD in the country at the time. I have a hard time believing he would be shown the door after hiring 2 other national championship coaches. Landry getting his grubby fingers in this though could well change all of that.

You have a bad memory.

Brian Kelly Is A Phenomenal Hire (Nov 2021)

Google "Brian Kelly Tigerdroppings" with date range in November 2021

Overwhelmingly positive.

He’s still considered one of the best AD’s in the country

This is a false statement. Woodward has accomplished nothing in his career, the sum total of which consists of being Mark Emmert's sidekick at LSU and then at Washington where Emmert rewarded his loyalty by making him the Washington AD. He has no accomplishments other than Mulkey and JJ. On the flipside, he is responsible for two of the worst coaching contracts in NCAA history, and has virtually financially crippled two athletic programs. He gotta go. But rest assured, conservative Jeff Landry's BOS consisting of John Carmouche (trial lawyer) and Rico Alvendia (trial lawyer) and Collis Temple, etc. have it under a control. This state is absolute shiite.

2 of the coaches he’s hired have also combined for 3 natty’s already.

In the sport that props up all other sports, Woodward's former and current employer have been and are paying over $145,000,000 to 3 men to not coach. None of those coaches made the playoffs after signing those contracts.

He is connected with the 2 largest buyouts in college football history.

He gave what was previously the largest contract ever signed a 100% guarantee.

Hiring Jay Johnson (who wouldnt be the coach had the board not blocked his first choice) does not erase his track record with the most financially important sport there is. Neither does hiring Mulkey who made no secret she wanted to come to BR and had no agent negotiating on her behalf when SW made her the highest paid coach in the sport (that loses $8m a year).

He has to go.

Louisiana is a dumpster fire with little hope for improvement. So sad to me personally, but it is what it is. Can a first rate football program emerge from such a dysfunctional state with a huge underclass?
