This weekend they're going to have actual TV production instead of just overlaying a radio broadcast over shitty camera work.
Which is more than what we got out of ESPN this past weekend.

Good for you. It must be nice to simply ignore facts that don't fit my pre-conceived narrative.

As they should. It’s crazy that they even tried to do that bullshite broadcast a couple of years ago and then Kendall come on here and act like he’s doing us some great service by trying to fix his shitty broadcast.

We all know the deal with ESPN broadcasts, especially earlier in the year. They broadcast hundreds of event per week with all of the schools and sports they cover.

What is different about what they did a few years ago vs what they did last year and so far this year?

You're carrying water for a company that is doing the absolute bare minimum to fulfill their contractual obligations that allow them to broadcast the sports they want. Congrats, you're a fricking mark.

Would you be happy to pay $34 every time you want to watch LSU play a weekend series?
It's for one weekend out of the whole season..... Pretty sure most people pay more monthly for cable... which you need to watch SECN/SECN+....

Not at all what I said, but the ESPN app is pretty garbage in terms of College baseball, can't even select LSU Baseball as a Favorite and they don't have stats till conference play or conference tournaments.

I haven't watched any of their games so far this year. I know that the first year they streamed LSU games it was awful. Which is what I was referring to.

I'm not totally sure what a mark is but I'm assuming it's not good. I'm not carrying water for ESPN. I absolutely think their broadcasts could be better at times. I also understand why they could be shitty at times and can rationalize it for the value of what you are getting. I hold the D1 Baseball showcases to a different standard than a LSU game against Omaha.

I will be listening to LSU sports radio online and following along on the stat broadcast mobile site.
Not about to pay $60 to watch 4 games this weekend.

Right so you are comparing what people pay for an entire month of tv that includes ton of other options to a few weekends of select games.

Here is a link to all of the college baseball scores from last night. It includes box scores, gamecast, and play-by-play

All of the LSU highlights he posts get tens of thousands of views and there's never a peep from ESPN
I think he has to have some sort of permission from ESPN to post all the content he does across multiple sports.

nobody even think about saying it

Wasn't even comparing more of a justification of the price.
Don't pay for it or do pay for it, do whatever you want.
This isn't anything new across sports. NFL is now on multiple different streaming services for certain games like TNF(amazon), Xmas games (Netflix).
Everyone wants a cut of the profit. D1 baseball is obviously a smaller niche market. if the stream is decent or good which sounds like they're trying to improve it, then it's not the end of the world to spend $34 for it imo.

only 3 of the 11 games played have box scores lol. you just proved my point. I use the ESPN app to watch baseball all the time, the streams are generally fine but ESPN in general does not put much effort into college baseball.

Boycott LSU baseball this weekend for making the fans pay $35 for the weekend to watch. I would have done the ESPN+ at $10 but not $35. Sorry guys cheaping out or proving a point? If we’re in Houston I would be there.

ESPN wasn't picking up this tournament. So it doesn't matter what you'd have paid to them.

I hope this doesn't break any board rules but Houma and Denham Hooters are going to get the package and you can watch some games there
Posted on 2/25/25 at 1:38 pm to jmarto1
but i thought hooters were going bankrupt

It would only be breaking the rules if it was the Westbank Hooters.

A lot of incorrect rambling on this thread, but you guys know me, I'm always hear to answer questions and take questions.
1) I know how supportive LSU fans are, and I know some LSU fans here don't like the price point. So, here's my carrot to you guys -- use the code LSU20 at checkout and that'll get you 20% off the streaming packages, here: LINK That will get your price for the streaming down.
2) For whatever reason, people still don't understand the streaming bit. We have to pay upwards six figures to produce 24 games over two weekends. It does cost money, but also, if we weren't paying the money to broadcast these games, you would be huddled around a radio somewhere in your living room.
3) Asking questions in a chat is most definitely not a 'paid' content item on our site. We do make it paid after a couple of days because it's us literally answering 50 questions in a matter of an hour and a half, but we'd get pretty bored answering few questions if we made the question-asking process premium. That is just not correct. Sorry.
4) This year's stream package actually comes with the full D1Baseball content suite. It did not two years ago. So, with the code, you're paying the SAME as you did two years ago + you're getting all the content on D1Baseball. Some don't care about that and some do.
5) Nothing about D1Baseball is a 'sellout'. We're doing quite well, but we've not sold to anyone. It's still myself, Kyle Peterson and Aaron running the ship. I've not gotten any reports of the scoreboard being way behind, but if it ever was, do not hesitate to email me: kendall@d1baseball.com. We will get that rectified ASAP.
Anyway -- it's good be back. I always make my way back here at some point in the season ... and here we are :)

I talk to Wheels all the time. Tommy and I have a great relationship. That is just false (that we forced him to take the games down). If anything, we're close to partnering with him on a few things.
