Paz has an elite slider. Maybe the best pitch on this staff. Think of Ty Floyd’s fastball. He probably will be the best pitcher on this staff at some point once he develops an arsenal he can command with it.
I agree with that, I just think tonight is tough even on a veteran pitcher.

Offshore?! Lol nope. Sorry truth hurts your wittle feelings, pussy

Yesterday was meaningful for Smitty imo, under the situation he held it together. I think next season he will shut down uga. I think he goes 5/6 innings and give up 2 runs or less. The people that follow needs to execute better. Pitch counts need to be smarter. Pitchers cant miss spots so badly. Etc. Pitching overall needs and overhaul imo an fast.

Cmon man nearly half of those came against South Carolina.
38% isn't "nearly half". Outside of his first SEC start (State), he's been good in SEC play. That includes Vandy, Tenn, Ole Miss and A&M. At Ole miss he was credited with the loss and that's only b/c Simpson made an error that was somehow scored as a single.

He’s looked better lately,
Then why start a thread like this? my guess is that you are just a jackass that wants to come back later and say "see, I told you so".

Are you seriously comparing South Carolina at home vs quite possibly the best lineup in the country on the road in one of the most home run friendly ball parks in said country?
If you don't like the answers, don't ask the question. If you think you know the answers, don't pretend to ask a question.
But how bad did he get lit up in Tennessee, an even more homerun-friendly park? He only pitched 1 inning, 3 batters faced, no hits, no walks, 1 strikeout.
Let's look at his outing in the SEC; it's a mixed bag. Which is why you cannot assume anything, especially about a true freshman. His SEC ERA is good, his WHIP is excellent, but his K/BB could be better, and he has given up 2 homeruns in just 13 innings.
Marco Pazz(SEC only) - 13 IP, 3.46 ERA, 1 WHIP, 5 Hits, 18 Ks, 8 BB, 5 ERs,1 WP, 2 HRs
So the answer is we don't know, and not because it's baseball, but because he has been hot and cold.

Are you seriously going to be that ridiculous? What’s the cut off for nearly in your mind?

I would much rather come back and say I was dead wrong after a surprising win. But I think even with him being better, this game is just too big of an ask.

They have to keep their pitches down in the zone. Every pitch they let slide up in the zone they mashed in that softball park.
HE HIT THE GREEN HOUSE!!!!

Paz was pretty darn effective last weekend. I think he'll be good. And let Santiago Garcia do long relief, if possible

Look out, the OP will be here to tell South Carolina doesn't count.

Consistently throwing strikes will be more of a concern than getting lit up, imo

He had one bad game, Moo State, which has his strike percentage at 56.2% (in 13 innings), which isn't good. Take that game out, and he is at 64.9% (in 10 innings), which is just under the low end of elite (65%).
Paz has a bright future, I think.

If you already think Paz is going to get lit up tonight then why even ask the question?
Yes UGA will probably plate some runs off of him. Just like they would with all of our pitchers on this staff and every pitcher they’ve faced in the SEC this year. They have an exceptional lineup. Nobody shuts this UGA lineup down. Especially in a little league park like theirs. LSU would have to score a minimum of 12 runs to even have a shot of winning either of the next two games.

All those reasons you listed are more my point than Paz being bad. It’s a tough scenario

Let’s go Paz! We believe in you!

I’ll more be will we be able to hit against their best pitcher.
No reason to shite on one of our players being thrown into a situation he might not be ready for.
