You would also think we’d be screwed in 2024 with everyone leaving as well, but that’s not the case either. We will be loaded with depth at Oline and LSU will always have receivers. This year will be crucial for Walker and Collins development as well. LSU looks so stable on offense and getting there on defense.

It's amazing that the team is in this situation that it is in just one year removed from playing a WR at QB in the bowl game.

A lot of talent and a returning QB that cannot get the ball to the talent down field. Defense better get a lot better because Daniels proved that he cannot win without a great defense. He is the worst QB for a shootout and that was what was needed against several teams. Way too many unproductive drives, sacks, and missed receivers. It is great that so many return, but a QB is needed to maximize that talent. JD maximized zero talent of those around him.

Getting Smith back on defense is a big deal as well

Hopefully the rest of the defense can reload

It's bad arse, and something that has almost never happened to LSU football in the last 10 years.

We are also returning all of our coaching staff, another thing that has not happened in years and years. Stability is important. Kids can really learn when they have the same system year after year.

Offense had some lows for sure, but did you come to this conclusion on your own, or have you read it and parroted it, faced resistance and now you have committed completely to it? We were in shootouts, that’s how we beat bama, remember that? We couldn’t run the ball this year, and our most effective RB was a walk-on. You also have placed none of the blame on the offensive coordinator. But sure, keep on rooting for the alternative qb who has been responsible for winning 0 games because he’ll just throw it. Watch how “great” our defense will be when they are on the field all game because we “air it out” and never poses the ball for more than 3 minutes. Y’all place
Too much stock in throwing the ball downfield, when it’s a small piece of a winning formula.

they respect him so much they named him team MVP. I can’t wait to see what he does next year.

No excuse for Kelly and Denbrock to not open the playbook. Should be a dynamic offense.

You're getting down voted but there is a lot of substance to your post. JD threw a measly 16 td passes. That ranks 10th in the SEC. Teams started sitting back in zone and he was scared to throw. The poster below you who blames the OC doesn't understand football. JD needs to step it up to 25 or higher for us to be an elite offense.

You can’t discount his rushing TD.

I’m no guru. But you are saying the physical number of touchdowns is what makes an offense elite? And are you also saying the fix for teams sitting back in the zone is jayden throwing more?

And as we’ve seen time and again, LSU QB’s never improve in their second year. Never mind that for a 3 game stretch he was playing as good as any QB in the country. With another year under his belt it stands to reason that he’ll never replicate that success and is doomed to only repeat his worst performances.

ETA: Do I really HAVE to put a “sarcasm” label on this? Come on, TD. Some of y’all are smarter than this.
