Hopefully we’ll start preparing for a future without the SEC

This conference is a sinking ship, and it has proven that it’s very corrupt and hates LSU. This relationship is permanently damaged.
We should prepare a plan of action for the day when it’s time to officially jump ship.
Maybe we can work out TV contracts to be independent in football and members of the ACC or Big 12 in all other sports. That’s probably the best option.
frick the SEC. That is all.

The SEC and Big10 are the only paths to future relevance in CFB

Can you not go teach a business law class at McNeese and get off this board for awhile?

Not for long

Independent
The fastest path to irrelevance for a school like LSU, especially considering how we would leave major CFB. We'd have to fill out that schedule with lots of marquee teams and we just pissed off everyone in major CFB except maybe Texas Tech

Agree 100%. The vitriol is obvious and irreversible. We will have the overhang of double secret probation for years to come.
Time to work on an exit strategy.
Maybe sync up with A&M who is also disenfranchised with the SEC as well as disenfranchised ACC members like Clemson and FSU to create a Big 10 South division of the Big 10. These 4 additions would provide the Big 10 access to the Dallas/Houston markets (A&M and LSU alums) as well as the Atlanta/Florida markets (Clemson, FSU, and some LSU alums).
Separately, the SEC would never provide the type of transparency the Big 10 is now enacting with instant replay. While the Big 10 originally messed up, the fix is fantastic and something that the SEC would never do. They like being able to say that Patrick Peterson was out of bounds without being challenged.

Nah, the SEC did. We did nothing wrong.
Don’t say “we” when referring to LSU if that’s really your viewpoint.

It would be malpractice for an AD to not be working on this right now. How do we feel about Verge having this covered?

For sure. Now is the time. LSU is one of the hottest brands in the sports world and a cash cow for other name brand opponents.
They would have no problem getting home and home deals with the big name teams to fill out a schedule.
It’s likely ESPN called off the SEC’s bleeding vagina witch hunt because of the money LSU brings in. LSU is must see tv more than they’ve ever been.

Its one of only two conferences that are not a sinking ship.

Probably has always some levels of corruption.

College football is a constantly changing landscape. We should have always been looking for the best opportunity for LSU. Whether you morons can comprehend it or not, that best option has been, and will continue to be, the SEC most likely.

You have to at least be exploring options behind the scenes at this point. I love being in the SEC, but the way we were treated this week was ridiculous. They went nuclear over zero rules violations. Nothing. You can’t just pretend that never happened.

Make it stop. We're not going anywhere.

This is one of the stupidest thoughts ever. We do not need to leave the SEC. We do not need to try to be an independent in football and join a conference for other sports. What’s the point? That a sure path to irrelevance.
