So the players are who's really running the athletic dept? why do we even need an AD?

Yep, these are LSU fans.
But, for the time being, black families still allow their kids to come here as athletes, some enthusiastically.
BUT, as Univ. Of Texas is learning, times are a changing.

Yeah for a lot of reasons

But what’s the athletic department without players?

So what’s the answer?

No one has to play at LSU. So we do kinda need to keep the players happy.

Ask Saban. Who put out a BLM video with his players and won a NC. Guess that’s was no issue at Alabama.

SammyTiger - you seem like a reasonable and rational guy. You think all this just blows over? And Woodward is making that happen?

Just say you want all of our black players to transfer

I cheered as loudly for Mike Williams in '72 as Joe Burrow in '20. And I still think Eric Reid is a great Tiger and hope Gilbert returns. Best I can do to convince you but the thread isn't about me is it.

Woodward didn't fire Ausberry and Segar, instead he gave them vacations. Athletic Dept needs a serious internal overhaul.

Didn't he push for the Pelini hire?

How has Woodward "lead a SJW movement"?
What specifically has he done in this regard?

I would say it’s an LSU thing with BLM plastered all over their website and the social media pandering but this seems to be going on at a lot of schools too

I don’t agree with it at all but see why they/coaches entertain it especially with the athletes

When the majority of your athletes are black, you have to ride the fence. I don’t blame Woody.

Mainieri has earned three more seasons after a CWS runner up finish.

Orgeron drove the train to the best college football season ever. Coach O deserved to hire his buddy. Didn’t work out but O earned some grace after 15-0 .

Fargas is a double minority. You have to keep proper optics here even though WBB is a lost cause.

Best to just sit tight and don’t cause any more turmoil.

Big boy sports cause big boy problems from time to time. If this was Nichols state, USA Today wouldn’t give a frick.

The BLM stuff?

I do.

I think Giving a little lip service to the players is what the school should do, and I think Scott is right that we should avoid stepping in it going forward.

He made a head coach, who was hired on the premise of being paid less to pay coordinators more, one of the highest paid coaches in the country.

What if the players wanted it and it calmed them down/united them after the BLM shite that was going on in our locker room?

Still don't think it was necessary to honor a man that never set foot in Tiger Stadium nor did anything for LSU. I would doubt that any of the players even knew him.
