Honest question to all bashing brown…

What level of baseball did you play? Talk crap all you want but let’s be honest about how “easy” the situation was and how “everyone” makes that play.
I played all the way through freshman year moved to Mississippi where the school won state ( maybe back to back). I played first there was no chance. Still play softball pitch and infield. Can’t imagine what was going through his mind at that moment.

Anyone bashing him is an idiot...

I can understand the frustration in the moment but that’s where it should end. He’s only a freshman and many more moments ahead of him to redeem himself.

Tough play but if he makes it we still have a chance. As the top LA hs player last year, you tend to have people expecting a lot from you, even as a freshman.

nobody with any sense would bash Brown - he made an error that will haunt him to his dying day,
but it was a true anomaly - not like he was an error-machine or anything.
PLUS he was plunked into right field for the first time and had not seen the geometry of the fence line until that very one inning. Probably had an incorrect image of where the fence was having had no opportunity to even set eyes on it before.

You completely avoided everything he asked in the OP

We went 6 plus innings without scoring. Plenty of responsibility to share the team made a great run.

If the ball got in the lights, there wasn’t much he could have done. We caught a break on the bunt that went foul and they caught one there. It happens in sports all the time.

Does the same go for politics? What about dining out at restaurant?
Trying to see what other areas of life I can have an opinion on and if I am only allowed opinions on things or people where I can match their experience.
Oh, sorry..varsity baseball through high school

No one is saying the play wasn’t bad. But to bash a player on a team that you pull for in the way our terrible online fans do is unwarranted
You can say a meal was under seasoned or a politician doesn’t align with your views, but to personally attack them is just as stupid.
It is a sign of our times.

If you watch a game and go to the internet to bash a player especially on that players instagram you are a loser. You need to reevaluate your life.

This happens on every team where a passionate fanbase exists.
Players make mistakes, mistakes that many consider cost a game and they get harshly criticized. It happens everywhere competitive sports exist at a high level and it's no worse at LSU.

You think people are personally attacking Brown? Good Gosh that's soft.
The kid missed a play he should have made. He's getting criticized for it.
Thats it.
Sure, there are always extremists and if this post if just for the few out there on the extreme end, okay but if thats the case I don't even think a post is necessary. Just ignore the extremists. Brown is overwhelmingly being criticized for play not for being a player.
He's still a great player and everyone knows that but for anyone to insinuate his play can only be critiqued by someone who has achieved the same level of baseball or more is ludicrous. It's not just ludicrous for college baseball. Its ludicrous for life.
These kids are in high profile positions and they all knew what they signed up for....to play for the most passionate fanbase in the country. With that comes all the perks. The parties, the NIL money, the post college/baseball career in med sales if they want it, the free food at dinners, beers bought at bars, the fame and the notoriety. All those benefits come at a cost and that cost us understanding that when you mess up...you'll hear about it.

No, I believe you're a sign of the times. Making excuses for people. Everybody wins. No some of us still call it like it is. He should have made that play. And he directly could have made a huge difference if he would have caught a ball he should have caught.

I didn't play baseball but I wasn't Louisiana H.S. Player of the Year nor did I receive a baseball scholarship. Brown did. Sugarcoat all you want but it should have been caught - PERIOD.

The problem is his lazy style finally caught up to him. He’s done dumb stuff all year. Like fake catching fly outs next to Kling. His play in center in the 1st inning is overshadowed now by his even bigger mistake in the 10th.

That’s always the poor man’s argument. Well did you play? What position did you play? At the end of the day, he’s at arguably the top baseball D1 program in America, he has to make that play in a Regional Championship game.
Could I make that play personally? No. But LSU didn’t offer me a scholarship and opportunity to play there. They did for Brown so he has to make that play.

If he catches the fly, it still didn’t guarantee a win- we still had to score
Should have been caught though
The fly to left in the ninth was bigger…it tied the game

Who is saying otherwise? Brown himself would say that. The point he's making is everyone knows Brown made a mistake. No need to keep piling on.

quote:yes. Since last night there have been plenty.
You think people are personally attacking Brown? Good Gosh that's soft.
And calling one soft for defending someone? In days gone by standing up for someone being attacked was a sign of strength.
Today it seems anonymous attacks on someone make you what? Not soft. lol

I didn't read all the comments, but being bashed for having an opinion/being disappointed the team lost?
That's why I left all the McNeese fan pages. You have to be able to vent disappointment as a fan.
