So easy for arm chair quarterbacks to criticize a player for making a pretty easy business decision.

He knew he would be a top 10 draft pick whether he played or not. He probably also knew that his stock could only go down because the offensive mastermind (Brady) was gone and replaced by a has-been. He also likely noticed that the defense was going to be poor. Couple that with COVID reducing the pre-season, increasing the likelihood of injury.

I suppose it would be easy for you to put millions of dollars at risk under those circumstances.

but as far as I'm concerned Chase quit on us

And had he gotten injured, you would have made a post about how much of a shame it was, then moved on a day later.

All while he now misses out on generational wealth. But hey, he has your approval and a 5-5 season where he didn't quit!

A big part of this is coaching. What are we teaching these kids? What music are we allowing in the locker room? Where is our integrity?

What ever happened to the John Woodens, the Tom Landrys, the Tony Dungys.

As much as I HATE that coach at Bama, you don't see his top players opting out.

Man just let it go already. Damn. We're on to a brand new year. Chase is a stud and I expect him to make a splash with whoever drafts him. As well as Smith.

I hate to see more of college football changing as any other maybe more so. But from me seeing dudes get hurt and injured there senior or junior years after outstanding previous years or even completely falling out of draft really sucks and I will never ever fault a guy for going pro early and getting a contract maybe not drafted as high and now opting out bc he would have been the #1 WR last year I believe.. I just wish we wouldn't pay players. Either they go pro or they stay in college

OP is a dummy but props to him for holding on to his bad take. Lots of people were saying the same dumb shite during the season and are back on Chase's nuts now that it's obvious their dumb take that he'd fall is wrong.

This can't be stated enough.

My goodness some of you needs to chill about Chase. Last year was super weird with the pandemic. He had too much to risk given the situation, when he opted out, we did not know what we do now about covid-19.

Chase was a great tiger and could represent LSU well for years to come. Get over it...

I think the hype will be insane if he goes WR1. Huge publicity for LSU.

Similarly for Shelvin/KV. Yeah it might make you feel better to be spiteful and hope he drops in the draft, but let them get drafted well, get eye balls on LSU and convince some young kids LSU is the place to be.

An athletic scholarship is probably worth over 100k a year.

They get paid. Plenty.

Did the Barber “drive to Tuscaloosa” and give you a FREE haircut to post this?

Or did the church siphon off some Tuscaloosa money to you from a booster?

Either way:

I do not support paying players.

A player should not be able to get paid for his likeness. But I can be talked out of it, and there has to be some sort or regulation on it. (Imo they should be in pros, if free education, free healthcare, free meals, free books, free housing free god damn everything then they are getting paid and that is enough

A player should be allowed to be drafted at any age!! This is complete BS! Idc of the body isn't fully developed if dudes can and are able to get paid they need to be able to. Of that means decline of college athletics and a start of a nfl g league or something that that's it. But I don't think there will ever be a g league to develop as much talent as the ncaa does. So u want money get outa school athletics and go make money there should be zero issues with that.

When a player declares for the draft the player should never be allowed back to the college game in the sport he declared for.

Imo football will still be amazing and good players will stand out but the really good ones will be drafted after sophomore season. Im Sure there are so many rabbit holes but those are the basics of what I think.
