Actually saw someone post awhile back, "lay off the hammer and sit dead red," and perhaps he even typed it with a straight face.
I love baseball, but people using every slang word or goofy phrase make it comical. Maybe that's why baseball players have elaborate, original nicknames like "Smithie" or "Jonesie."

We were a couple of plays away from winning a regional. The team improved exponentially as the season went on after losing 2 generational talents to the pros at the end of last season.
The team was awful for half the season and improved drastically. Know why? Coaching. Coaching. Coaching.

And how exactly did he do that? You can't expect to win nattys back to back when you lose more than a starting roster of players to the draft or seniors. The way baseball is with recruiting/drafting out of high school, which I think they need to change, and make it just like football, it's just about a given that the top recruits don't make it to campus. I think NIL will help deter some kids from going pro right out of high school. So hopefully it'll be easier to retain or build rosters with not as much turnover or attrition
