Doesn't matter. What upsets me more than that was the play calling when LSU got it down to the 30 and then failing to call time and allowing the clock to run all the way to 9 seconds.

Hmmmm....think about the IQ of most people in here before attempting to make an intelligent, well-thought out post.

The whole game, along with most of the last two years have been mismanaged. Its not one play.

My conclusion is that letting almost 20 seconds run off the clock after the third down play was an inexcusable blunder that CANNOT have a reasonable explanation.

Before the hail mary, an assistant coach tells Miles the timeout was called, but he was mistaken.

Putting aside for the moment the question of how in the hell any assistant can be "mistaken" about that when all it takes is a look at the fricking game clock to see that it's running, does Miles not have his OWN eyes? Can he not see the fricking clock running like 60,000 fans in the stadium and millions more watching on TV? Why are our team and coaches the only dumbfricks in the whole wide world who don't know the clock is still running? Inexcusable. He should be fired for that frickup alone, but that was only one of MANY similar clock management frickups he's had over the years. The moron simply has no sense of what is going on in a game. He's completely clueless.

You are almost as big a moron as he is.

Good post. Although I'm just as pissed at Miles as the next guy, the "Miles called for a spike" is really irritating me, given that it indeed is FALSE.

I'm mad about the 2 passes on first and second down at the 32. I'm mad about the 2pt conversion repeat play. I'm mad about the timeout not getting called. But I'm very aware, unlike many uninformed LSU fans, that Miles DID NOT call for the spike.

I'm willing to let him live if he leaves Louisiana immediately and promises never to return under any circumstances.

I'll accept that scenario, but what I have a real problem with is passing the ball 1st and 10 on the 30 with 2 time outs. It just doesnt make any sense whatsoever. Also the 2nd fade on the 2pt conversion.

This

I agree, but I am just addressing the end situation in this post.

The offense and playcalling issues, I believe, will be repaired by Coach Miles after the season ends, as is the norm for most head coaches with class.

Someone hasn't looked at next years schedule and the amount of talent LSU is set to lose.

Fix it at the end of the season??? Why didn't Miles over rule the OC's passing calls in the first place. That would have fixed it right there...and given us the chance to win. But no, he's got to let his OC "suggest" a pass play and then allow it to be called, after he's seen JJ take sacks and an offensive line that couldn't block their grandmothers.

So he thought TO was called and his team was just hanging out on the field, soaking it all in, staying poised maybe? GTFO

Um, your scenario ignores one obvious fact. If they'd already planned to have the FG team roll then where was it? NOT A SINGLE PLAYER from the FG team headed out to the field. SURELY, they were not ALL confused by the supposed "spike gesture".

Sorry dude. Miles' head was in his arse during the timeout. He didn't have a solid plan and it SHOWED!!!

If MIles can't remember, and from listening to the Jordy interview, it's obvious that he can't, then where did you get that scenario?

two issues with your scenario (actually a lot more, but two that have not yet been covered)

1) miles should not be worried about whether or not it was an interception or fumble. him complaining to the refs would not change the call. as a matter of fact, it would have been better had they called it an interception or fumble. that would have required a review which would have enabled us to get the kicking team on the field. so, les is still an idiot if he was arguing that it wasn't a fumble.

2) if he was 'mistakenly' told by an assistant coach there was a timeout taken (which is idiotic), i would hope that assistant would be fired. if true and he doesn't fire anybody for it, then again he still proves an idiot.

Um, it was pretty important. If called a fumble, the game is over right there.

Not excusing the whole series of events, but this particular point you are trying to make has no merit. That said, the other poster above makes a good point ... regardless, the kicking team should have been coming onto the field.

Whether or not we would have got the kick off is a whole different issue. A lot of people fail to realize the spike actually never happened ... we DID NOT GET A PLAY OFF BEFORE THE CLOCK EXPIRED.
