ok seriously
are you people just fricking stupid, or actually retarded?
Its a hypothetical question and can be answered either way. Why would you call anyone stupid or retarded?
And how are you sure that Hester CANNOT have more yards than McFadden on Fri?
And how are you sure that McFadden will flare well in our scheme?
Heck, we have 5* players finding it hard to get 30 yards per game.

Because the Charles barkley character on this board is much like the one in real life. Instead of letting people have a hypothetical discussion, he's going to call people names and try and make you feel stupid for contributing to the debate.

Quote from the NY Times - Pat Dye on McFadden
“There hasn’t been one like this in the conference since Bo,” the former Auburn coach Pat Dye said. “That’s as high a compliment I can possibly give.”
Hester is a competitor...but come on Homer!!

Seems like he makes more sense than many in this thread. Trade Hester for McFadden, Yes.

Interestingly, against Vandy, Ole Miss, and State, McFadden had 62 carries for 220 yards - a little more than 3 YPC. Not exactly best player in the nation numbers against not exactly vaunted defenses.
That being said, McFadden is a soph who I think will be an SEC great, up there with Kevin Faulk (all-purpose) and Herschel Walker when he is done (assuming he stays 4 yrs.) Despite what Hester brings to the offense, which is a hell of a lot more than I ever expected him to when he came on campus, I'd have to go with McFadden.

I am absolutely shocked that some people are saying that they would rather have Hester. Hester is important, but JESUS CHRIST people!!!!
McFadden is a great runner, receiver, and kick returner and arguably the best RB in America. I would trade him for any of our RB's......maybe 2 of them.
Well, i guess this is one way of seperating realists from Bama-esque fans.

You are contributing as much as George "W" in a debate...Let's debate Apples to Apples
JR for Dmac would make a better debate! Play-maker vs. Play-Maker...Heart and Soul of both teams!

this may be one of the top 5 threads in the "absolutely stupid" catetory in the HISTORY of the rant. it is obvious that people picking hester are insane, so there is no point to "contribute to the debate"

In that case, no deal, though I'm sure that could start a whole new thread and debate, as we have 2 more great/capable/talented/proven QBs.

I think most of people defending Hester are doing so to point out what a ridiculous, stupid hypothetical comparison thread this is...they don't even play the same position.
Now a more valid discussion would be how would McFadden do behind LSU's o-line.

If you have 2 capable QB's...why not make the trade. I would hope that Miles would quit with his RBBC shite and let the boy go...Then you would be less one-dimensional...

i'd trade flynn and keiland for dmac

no, I think Hester makes a better fullback/h-back/blocking back, and I wouldn't want McFadden filling that role for us...it would be a waste of talent, that's why I'll keep Hester

Personally, I think this kid will be a star no matter where he goes...Instead of 26 carries for 186, he might need only 13-15 carries because of LSU's vertical game. It's a shame we'll only get to see him in the SEC for 1 more year! He'll be a top 3 pick!

what happened vs. Miss State? 26 carries for 84 yards?

Try to slant you little stats anyway you guys want to. I can see where 84 yards doesnt look like much against Mississippi. Why don't you throw in his Return TD???? What about that?? What about averaging 118 per game??? What about the 1300 Yards he's rushed for?? What about the fact that he has a teammate in Felix Jones who has taken 111 of the carries for over 850 yards?? Remember when he ran over Tennessee and Auburn? We lost to Auburn and were lucky to beat Tennessee. Did you ever think that Mississippi State may have stacked the box?? Did you ever think that maybe Arkansas looked past Mississippi State?? If I recall LSU got caught looking ahead to Arkansas and almost lost to the 2nd worse team in the league. Im not an Arkansas fan (alhtough I do have some ties seeing as I used to live there) but stupid crap like this just needs to stop. It has gotten out of control.
