That was my exact thought. If there was any complaint I had with Brennan was that he seemed like he felt he needed to put the team on his back. He's a gunslinger and he needs to rip the ball. The double pumping and late throws tells me he's thinking too much.

If the defense wasn't record-setting bad, the offense did enough to win a conference game.

Bingo. Nobody seems to get that the defense gave up an SEC record number of passing yards which has nothing to do with Brennan or the offense.

I think everyone realizes the defense was awful. But MB and the offense had plenty of issues as well. Both units need to get better.

15 possession

15 possession

That’s less than 30 yards of offense per possession

That’s flat.

First the Rant knows more about QB play than Rohan now it knows better than Hester about offense. Can’t say I’m surprised at all though.

After that, the defense intercepted Costello. LSU immediately turned that into a TD on a great catch by Marshall. Unfortunately, the offense fell apart once more despite the defense giving them a chance to take the lead. Up only 3, MSU fumbled at their own 25. LSU was in prime position to take the lead. They abruptly ran 3 plays for 1 yard and settled for a game tying FG.

. That was frustrating. Getting the ball with a chance to take the lead in great field position and gaining one damn yard

Flat, or not, you will not win too many games giving up 40+.

Ehhhhh.....I wouldn’t say “nothing”. How many 3 and outs did the offense have to put a tired and thin d right back on the field? Additionally we punted 7 times. That’s a lot of unproductive possessions.

Moo shite U caught lightening in a bottle. Will probably be their best game of the year and our worst. All this hand wringing over a one off performance is laughable. Everyone needs to settle down and enjoy the football we have. This year is an anomaly anyway. Free pass to get settled for the future. Chill out you ninnies

Moron, temper you expectations just a bit. 1st qtr of the 1st game of the season. Considering all things, it's not nearly as bad as you mouth breathers are making it out to be.

It sucks we lost. Quit freaking the frick out already.

Yep. They SHOULD win the next two, but I doubt they'll hang with Florida in Gainesville.

Flat suggests they simply weren't up for the game.

I'm pretty sure Hester was indicating that there are material issues besides just being flat.

They were definitely flat in the first quarter and seemed lifeless for a while, but they came to life in the 2nd half well and seemed to do really well with tempo offense. Play calling was lacking since this is not last year's team and we have to do some things that confuse the D at times rather than going with the same stuff from last year that worked due to tremendous talent and execution.

Offense showed some life in the second half but was dead in the first. It wasn’t clutch though. It has some chances to go ahead in the second half and never could.

They sucked early on. It was incredibly frustrating to watch. The offense was also gifted 4 turnovers.

I find it ridiculous to throw up overall numbers to try and justify performance.

If you want to go into stats, then how many attempts did we have again? How were we on 3rd down conversion?

Those would be EXCELLENT numbers in a normal game where the offense sustained drives early on and the defense played better.

Myles Brennan QBR 32.2 to KJ's 83+
LSU rushing 2.1 avg per carry
3rd down conversion 5 of 17 (AWFUL)
