Not one point you attempted to make is correct. Your knowledge of football is awful, but your spelling is a average, well done.

, you may want to look at the depth charts at both Florida and Alabama.

Either one of those starting QB's get hurt, BOTH teams are fricked.

what will it say about our coach and his staff if florida's qb can step in and play successfully as a freshman ? think he will resemble JJ ?

If they are lucky, the freshman will finish 5th in the conference in passer rating.

Well, yes, it IS George Bush's fault!

W inherited a he budget surplus and left a growing deficit; an economy in shambles and close to collapse; two wars at a cost of $3 trillion and growing. In short he (and the GOP) left America and Obama a huge shite sandwich to eat!

Don't get the undies in a bunch. Also, let's deal with this season and the next recruiting period before attempting to prophesy what will happen 2 years down the road.

I have to ask...what was it about that comment on this huge thread that caused you to chime in?

Have you read the whole thread?

If you have you've noticed that undies have been in a bunch for a while....just asking

Les Miles is in over his head. He was able to keep the wheels on Saban's truck long enough to pull out some nice seasons, but he is not the guy who is going to maintain this program at an elite level.
Ahhhh... the fog is lifting. It is mind-boggling that this guy has been fooling so many people. Just incredible. And with an astronomical salary!

And his cohort Crowton?? This is worth another look: LINK

It was the the leaving the program in the hands of an 18 year that was waaaaayyyy over the top IMO that made me comment. It wasn't that I didn't see the "bunching" on 99% percent of the threads.

It's the apocalypse!!!

Not exactly, but keep listening to the main stream media with your liberal blinders on.

"Verifying this is as simple as accessing the U.S. Treasury (see note about this link below) website where the national debt is updated daily and a history of the debt since January 1993 can be obtained. Considering the government's fiscal year ends on the last day of September each year, and considering Clinton's budget proposal in 1993 took effect in October 1993 and concluded September 1994 (FY1994), here's the national debt at the end of each year of Clinton Budgets:

Fiscal
Year Year
Ending National Debt Deficit
FY1993 09/30/1993 $4.411488 trillion
FY1994 09/30/1994 $4.692749 trillion $281.26 billion
FY1995 09/29/1995 $4.973982 trillion $281.23 billion
FY1996 09/30/1996 $5.224810 trillion $250.83 billion
FY1997 09/30/1997 $5.413146 trillion $188.34 billion
FY1998 09/30/1998 $5.526193 trillion $113.05 billion
FY1999 09/30/1999 $5.656270 trillion $130.08 billion
FY2000 09/29/2000 $5.674178 trillion $17.91 billion
FY2001 09/28/2001 $5.807463 trillion $133.29 billion

As can clearly be seen, in no year did the national debt go down, nor did Clinton leave President Bush with a surplus that Bush subsequently turned into a deficit. Yes, the deficit was almost eliminated in FY2000 (ending in September 2000 with a deficit of "only" $17.9 billion), but it never reached zero--let alone a positive surplus number"

Hurry up and get in your insult in before Chris Mathews comes on, I wouldn't want you to miss it.

and for the OP, he pointed out Miles big flaw, he does not plan ahead. Not with the QB issue, not at the end of the Ole' Miss game last year, and not at the end of the Auburn game in 2007.

My answer to that query is "yes." In fact, this same problem did not happen this season to Urban Meyer, Nick Saban, Jim Tressel, Mack Brown, and many others.

Were these paragons of coaching wisdom recruiting 2 sport studs? You actually think Mac Brown did NOT recruit Lee? Do you really think that the others have not recruited 2 sporters. Josh Booty is exhibit A for Saban. Get a clue or rather dont bother because it is hopeless.
Like I said in my origional post. Please don't procreate. The world cannot afford your moron DNA to pollute it.

Results, my friend, results.

Is Alabama sitting there right now with no QB's that are a sophomore or less? Do they have none coming in this fall? Have they dropped two straight to Ole Miss?

You see where I'm going.

First of all, I am not the least bit angry with Zach Lee. That young man did exactly what I would have done in the same situation. He is looking out for his own best interests, and used the tools at his disposal to negotiate the best contract that he could. This involved making the Dodgers think he had other interests to pursue and didn't mind not signing a deal. Good for him.

If Les Miles had 1/10th of the cunning and foresight of Zach Lee then we would not be in this situation.

Everybody - everybody - knew when Zach Lee was recruited that he was a big-time baseball prospect who was a likely 1st rounder. Everybody also knows that MLB first rounders get multi-million dollar contracts. Who in the hell is going to turn down 1st-round money to risk injury playing college football? Seriously. And before you run to the history books to find some example, be aware that for every 1 kid you can find that passed up the money I can find 99 who took it. Let's all agree for purposes of this discussion that 1st round picks almost always take the money.

So, 1) knowing that the kid will be a 1st rounder, and 2) knowing that 1st rounders almost always leave, and 3) knowing by this point that Chris Garret is apparently not what you were looking for, and 5) knowing that your only two real quarterbacks (who have both struggled mightily) will be juniors this year, Les Miles signs only 1 quarterback?!?!?! The guy who is unlikely to ever play a down????? This for an offense that was 112 out of 117 last year.

How in the world did Miles reach this sort of decision? Has he examined the history of high draft picks in baseball? Did he talk to Paul Mainieri at all about this? Tell me what other top programs are in this situation right now.

If you are finding any positivity out of Les Miles latest turd then good for you. You probably spin the clock-management debacle at Ole Miss too. Seriously, good for you. If you are the type of person that can get pissed on and then convince yourself it's raining then I applaude you. I wish I were more like you.

I'm not like you, though, and I expect our coach to think 2 or 3 steps ahead at all times. I'm sure Miles is sitting in his office right now thinking "this kid really screwed us over." bullshite. You didn't have the knowledge or foresight to know how these things play out and to have a plan.

And anyone who calls me a crybaby is just lashing out in anger at their own inability to come to terms with what the rest of us have known for a long time:

Les Miles is in over his head. He was able to keep the wheels on Saban's truck long enough to pull out some nice seasons, but he is not the guy who is going to maintain this program at an elite level.

And if you don't see this, it's probably because you are just like him. You are the 112 best employe (out of 117) at your office, and you are fine with that. You are certainly not the boss.

Have a great day.

I think it was reported in the LA Times that after the draft the Dodgers didnt even begin negotiations with Lee. They didnt start negotiations with him until last week. With their ownership situation in such a shambles who could have ever predicted a $5 million offer?

Frankly what i don't get with the LSU fans bitching about this is why they think a kid that was here as a true freshman and showed promise would be the clear cut QB in TWO YEARS? Who the Hell knows what will happen in two years? We have a Senior and a Junior now. With Lee we would have had a Senior and a Junior and a true freshman. Next year we would be recruiting at least one QB, but if Lee was that good that would have limited the attractiveness of LSU for a recruit. So now Miles has the next two years covered and a HUGE recruiting tool available to get a high level QB.

The three things that recruits look at are:
1) Quality of the program/Facilities/Conference
2) Prospects for early playing time
3) Type of System

LSU is a Top 15 program, they have an opening for a 2011 class QB recruit to hit the field as a starter in 2012-2013. It should have been Lee, but now it is not meant to be. shite happens

The biggest question mark is the system. Hopefully Gonzalez steps up and answers that question.

One other thing. Why do people think Miles was blindsided by this? Does anyone honestly think they didnt know this could happen? To me the Garrett situation is completely removed from the Lee situation. If Garrett was that bad he wouldnt have mattered any way. So what if he is gone. It is better for him in the long run to go somewhere he can play.

The guy went to NSU, it isnt like he went to Oklahoma or something.
