I do not disagree with what you are saying PT. However, your post would have sounded a lot more clever if it had been made prior to February 3, 2010. It seems like everyone was pretty satisfied with Miles on NSD, especially with the surprise signings he ended up pulling on NSD. It is easy to bash Miles the day after the Dodgers throw down $5,000,000 basically out of nowhere. Would you have believed me if I had told you in February that ZL would end up getting a $5,000,000 offer when he was the 28th pick?
You are correct in one sense. I did not criticize the acceptance of Lee's letter of intent because I had no idea what he was going to do. For all I knew, the Dodgers had worked something out with LSU and the kid where he would play football in the offseason. Or perhaps there were some other things I didn't know about that served as guarantees that the kid would be here.
But it is clear now that none of those scenarios were the case. The kid knew he would leave for the money, and Miles was clueless. Miles makes the big bucks to see things like this coming and prevent them from happening.
Like I said, my criticisms are results based, if the kid had turned down the Dodgers then there would be no negative result to criticize Miles for.

So you're calling Miles' tenure here a failure because of the last two years?
This is a not-so-clever attempt by the failure-acceptance-tards (my new word to replace positiger), to try to shoehorn Miles first three seasons into the disaster that is currently unfolding.
I guess I wouldn't call his tenure a failure, but I would say he has outlived his utility and has lost the program.
Let me give you an example:
Would you call Bobby Bowden's tenure at FSU a failure?
Would you agree that it was time for Bobby Bowden to be fired?
If you're like me, you answered "no" and "yes." Bobby Bowden had some legendary success, but he had stopped winning and the program was in decline.

The problem is in perspective of college recruits. They see on national TV clock mismanagement not once but twice in the same season. They see a 5 star receiver getting less than 20 catches in a season. The offence ranked 112 in the nation despite years of top 10 recruiting classes. Also the number one quarterback not even getting in to play in multiple games. Recruits are not going to come to LSU with the reputation the Miles has (especially quarterbacks). Just look at the quarterback position at LSU.

Bobby Bowden wasn't 2 years removed from an NC

I am not bashing Miles for Z.Lee signing with the Dodgers.
My main problem with Les is that he knew he had R Shep moving to WR and Chris Garrett coming off a redshirt year. He decided to only sign 1 QB in the 2010 class. That QB had the high probability to get drafted by the MLB. So he was taking a risk on not having a QB in class as it was. Then he does not renew Chris Garrett' scholly after knowing that Z. Lee is a 1st round pick of a club with plenty of $$$. Leaving his entire program in the hands of a 18 year old kid with large amounts of money being thrown his way. That my friend is what I and many on this board deem his failure.

Not sure when the decision to not renew Garrett's scholarship was made, but I think it was after national signing day. Should we have tried to get another to QB signed, yes and I am sure we tried. With Chis Garrett already here, Russel Sheppard here along with J. Lee, JJ and now Zach Lee, that would look awful crowded to another recruit if you ask me.

And I am sure he failed.

Very well said. I have said it before and I will say it again. Every team loses players in between seasons.
The elite teams do not make excuses or ask for concessions. They simply reload and expect to win every game.
Everyone else makes excuses and has a ready made list of why this season will be difficult and how we are well positioned for next year.

And if you don't see this, it's probably because you are just like him. You are the 112 best employe (out of 117) at your office, and you are fine with that. You are certainly not the boss
Yeah but I got a shiny new car at the awards ceremony for being the best about 3 years ago. You are still mired in mediocrity where no one knows your name, just bitching it up out back with the smokers.
Look, your analogy failed about two sentences in. Baseball recruits its first round almost exclusively of kids that they can and will sign. Allowing fringe players to develop in college for the other 40 rounds, cherry picking them at a later date.
Also, you must have your sample be players that were recruited to BCS football schools, and were high draft picks by baseball.
Of course if you were not just middle of the road employee you would have seen the fault in the argument BEFORE you posted it, but you are what you are, its cool.

Agree 100%. What elite program in the country would sign one QB and one that is likely never to play a down?
Here is another point. How many of the top QB's for 2011 that have made commitments elsewhere did so because Zack Lee was penciled in at LSU as the QB of the future. I mean Miles told reporters that Lee would compete for playing time for this season and would not be red shirted.

Who on the LSU staff has made excuses or asked for a concession.

Actually, NOONE has made this argument. NOONE (with an ounce of sense) thinks that this affects LSU THIS season. It does create some trouble in TWO years, but not insurmountable trouble.
Its not like next year we will have just one QB with experience and two freshmen behind him.....(Guess what program is in this situation, THIS year)....

Sorry dude, didn't mean to strike a nerve.
If I had any idea what the remainder of your post was about I would respond to it. See if you can your thoughts in order and I will give it a shot.

You said that all first round picks were signed.
I pointed out that your sample size needed to be those first round picks that were also highly sought after football recruits to BCS schools. I would imagine that you have no idea.
I also think your ad lib comment about Les blaming Z Lee was just childish jibberish. But, it does show your true agenda.

Welcome to the Tiger Rant, it is a forum for discussing LSU athletics. Enjoy your time here.
ahem...um, s'cuse me sir, as much as we'd like to think this is a forum for "discussion" I think we all know better.
There are no true discussions on this board...it's people talking over the top of one another, bashing the coaching staff and calling for their dismissal and talking negative shite all the time.
It more like the angry mob mentality, running around town square with pitchforks, pickaxes and torches looking to burn the "monster"
