Why take such a chance by only signing one QB

right, because every talented QB coming out of high school wanted to come to LSU, but Les wouldn't let them. Go figure......

Apparently he has not fooled the ratings people at Sports Illustrated. What is LSU's preseason ranking in the SI Top 25 again? Oh, LSU isn't ranked? I wonder why... hmmm.

well we all know that when it comes to preseason rankings SI is the bible.

Agreed with everything you said. The honorable Mr. Miles is a bumbler. Wit no legitimate QB back-up, LSU is right where it was 2-3 years ago when Perriloser was booted (justifiably) off the team.

And no, if we win the first five, I am not at all sure unranked LSU will be ranked in the SI top 10 when we go play Florida in the Swamp. Not without a lot of the ranked teams losing a lot of games.

Who gives a rat phuck about SI's rankings? There are 3 polls i care about...and friggin' SI isn't anywhere close.

So if ZL would've signed, that would've given us a legitimate backup?

well that can't know, what we do know is there not a legit QB prospect on campus that has eligibility beyond the 2011 season. That we signed 1 QB in 05, 0 in 06, 1 in 07, 1 08 and basically none since, given that while we signed 2 in 09, we converted 1 to WR and took the scholly from the other and the 1 we signed in 10 quit to sign with the Dodgers. You can quote the 2005-2007 record all you want, that is a big problem and it falls squarely on the man responsible for the team.

No, not a legitimate backup, but certainly a backup. No one knows how Zach Lee will fair in an actual game. He would just be another guy on the roster until proven otherwise.

You get a chance, you perform up to your potential, you produce results, then you are legit. He was not the savior of this program in the beginning.
There is too many people putting too much stock in a fricking quarterback. We have Gary Crowton as our OC. We rely on running backs.
Lets put more pressure on Chavis. LSU is known for defense, not QB play.
Three keys to success
1. Agressive defense
2. Running game
3. O-line

Results are things like

51 wins=best 5 yrs in LSU history.
3 yrs in a row finishing in top 6=best in LSU history.
4-1 in bowl games=best in LSU history.
A.P.,Coaches poll, and BCS NC=best in LSU history.
Finishing #1, 3, 6, and 17 in 5 yr period=best in LSU history.

Take those results and stick them u know where, Captain Clueless!

What fricking women we have for fans.

Stan Humphreys transferred out from behind Wickersham and went to a small LA school. He did well in the NFL for a few years - better than Wick did.

So did Craig Nall, he never was a starter in the pros but spent a few years as a back up.

2 yrs. In spirit, he was with us from 2005-2007. His spirit left in 2008 when Miles took over.
So much success from 2005-2007, but no so much 2008-2009. hmmm, makes you wonder.

Preseason polls are basically meaningless. Unless you are in the top five and stay there, it doesn't matter where you are ranked.

Remains to be seen if its a colossal fail on any ones part. With a little luck and a timely commit from a QB who is ready to play upon enrollment LSU will be fine, but its going to take some luck.

Prodigaltiger you are right on the button. Time to launch the ship and or U haul for the Miles Wagon Train. Like I have said before he looks to be a good husband and father but is middle of the pack coach in the SEC at best. That will not get it and the proof is on the field. By the way I don't want to hear that crap about him winning a MNC. He won it with two loss team and the two teams that beat us were down that year. It has been down hill since 2007. I hope he does prove me wrong and wins 10 or more this year and if he does I will be on line stating I was wrong. Have a good day.

They have at least as much credibility as the ravings of kool-aid drunk ranters. But if you don't like SI, explain away our own conference projecting LSU to finish 4th in the West. I know, I know, it's SEC politics. I know, I know, LSU will fool 'em all. I know, I know I'm a ranter and a negatiger. But I know what I saw the last 2 seasons at LSU. I know that before that pattern began, LSU was never dissed this way in polls in this decade. I know our QB situation is paper-thin terrible. I know CLM is still head coach. So... we'll have to wait for the season to see if he's got things under control. Or if it is more of the same, close but... have a want... or a nice day. Your choice.
