although he was expected to come in an mow alot of grass this season, where has he shown he can come in an shut down any team that he normally could shut down, he hasnt done well at all? Are you insane?

So. If you pitch Anderson on Saturday instead of Friday, then he has to come back in a Super on 6 days rest instead of his usual 7.

Nah you just let Eyanson pitch the first game of the super. Although you could end up with a Sat-Mon super anyway which would make it a bit of a moot point.

He did that, for one, because he talked to Skip & after getting into rainouts, late starts, Skip suggested playing the first game in the afternoon. Wanna argue with the GOAT ?

It’s almost like you all haven’t watched our offense the last 6 weeks.

We could easily pitch Schmitt and get beat 3/4-0

Or he pitches Saturday and Eyanson Friday. Jay would have the ability to choose how he wants to handle that, and Eyanson has been just about as good in recent weeks.

Schmidt has probably thrown his last pitch in a game for lsu this season unless we are up 10 or down 10. Hopefully he figures it out in the offseason

This. If you count Evans as a starter (and that can change as we saw Friday), the bullpen will likely shake out like this

Tier 1- Noot and Shores

Tier 2- Cowan only because of the recent struggles.

Tier 3- Mayers and Williams

Tier 4- Primeaux, Fontenot, Rizy

Guys like Ware, Benge, Schmidt and the rest won’t be seen unless it’s a blowout.

Sorry to bust your bubble but it’s going to be Anderson or Eyanson, depending on matchups.

Not if we have the Sat/Sun/ Mon super.

Y’all need to let Jay cook and chill out.

If you can’t beat Little Rock with some combo, Shores, Rizzy, Mayers, Noot, Evans, Cowan you’re not going far anyway

I can just about 100% guarantee it will be Eyanson who pitches game 1. There is a reason Jay did what he did against A&M and he will save Anderson for DBU.

Not advocating throwing Schmidt. But if we can't score any runs against Little Rock we're not winning the regional.

I also am not really advocating for not pitching Schmitt or someone other than Anderson/Eyanson…..BUT if we lose that game 2-1 there would be a LOT of second guessing.

So dumb. If we were playing a little league team first game, would he waste Anderson?

Do people just not know Jay Johnson.

He pitched Skenes vs Tulane.

He's pitching Kade Anderson. He believes in routine and taking the wins now.

He will pitch Anderson game 1. Eyanson will pitch game 2. The end

I think you have it backwards. DBU has a harder time against leftys. And this flexibility is exactly why he pitched both Kade and Anthony against aggy.

I get the argument. Its possible you're right based on the matchup, but also based on past experience he usually sticks to routine and schedule. I guess we will see

Down the pipe or anywhere near the pipe is the problem with that idea.

I’m betting Eyanson Friday to get the LHP matchup vs DBU, but odds are it’s going to be one of the two aces to keep them fully on schedule for the following week.

This is what I think as well. Throw the two aces the first two games and get them back on rest to open the supers.
That and avoid a loss. If we end up in a scenario where we lost, now we are playing more games, burning more arms, and throwing the starters anyway which will require rest.

ETA:
I think that is the same reason Skenes was pitched VS Tulane '23... get him back on rest for the following week.
That and i think JJ is more of a "get the wins now than have to win later" kind of planner. (well, most of the time)
