I personally think you don’t frick with it but it is temping to throw
midweek guys against a bad midweek level opponent and have Anderson and Eyanson there to shut the door.

But Anderson has had issues on short rest.

Miss State 4.1 IP 6 H 6 R 5 ER
Alabama 6 IP 5 R 5 ER
Arkansas 7 IP 3R 3 ER

all short rest games

It's not "tempting", it's the general practice that most 1-seed coaches make this time every year.

I agree you pitch to win the first 2 games if you get up big early pull the starters and possibly have them for at least a few innings on monday if it goes that far.. if you try and save your beat pitchers and lose game 1 or game 2 now you are in the hole and definitely wont have the possibilityof game 1 starter throwing any on monday if it goes thay far.

I think he should pitch Eyanson AND Anderson on Friday. That’s how we got to the semifinals of the SEC Tournament. Which according the SECNetwork is harder to win than the CWS.

I hope not it is a waste.
You can drive a nail with a 10 pound hammer but a 1.5 hammer will work just fine.

If you don’t hit the ball you don’t score. Dont worry about the pitching, worry if the bats show up.

Eyanson and Anderson are Similar statistically. In a super we will be playing the same team both games so it doesn’t matter who we use first

Well I’m not a knee-jerk but if we lose to Little Rock & Rhode Island consider my shite lost!

The pitcher that makes the most sense to start is none other than…William Schmidt.

That’s a good way to get beat in game 1. Schmidt can’t take that kind of pressure. Freshman Evans and Schmidt for example are 2 completely different mentalities as far as pitching.

We are matched against the worst team in the tournament, with a losing record. We should be able to beat them easily with Noot or Shores.

I like the confidence, but I'm not sure you have watched this team this year. They have played down to a lot of teams this season and made some average pitching look good. Hell we just did it again against Ole Miss and their pitching when we didn't score any runs.

Friday night we should pitch Anderson and try to stay on the winning side of things. I don't like our hitting enough to play out of the loser bracket.

He’s throwing Anderson. End of story

If he wants to throw one of the top 2 on Friday it should be Eyanson. Save the lefty for DBU.

Yes it makes sense to start their worst pitcher. If they did start him it tells me that JJ has no intentions to win.

You know it’s officially the second best stretch of the sports year when this topic starts up on the Rant

Talk about overthinking, people saying start Kade Friday so he will have his regular rest is questionable since we don’t know if the Super starts Fri. or Sat. If it starts Sat. He needs to start Sat in the Regionals and Eyerson the next game

Schmidt has probably thrown his last pitch in a game for lsu this season unless we are up 10 or down 10. Hopefully he figures it out in the offseason

So dumb. If we were playing a little league team first game, would he waste Anderson?

What did he do with Skenes?
