I've said it other times on here, but LSU is second only to Georgia in the amount of players drafted in the last two NFL drafts. That's not to say the talent on this team is at a 2019 level...but it's not at the bottom of the freaking SEC either like many seem to think. At worst, LSU is still in the top 1/3 of the SEC in terms of talent.
Now that LSU has a proven, competent, HC and coaching staff as opposed to the team mascot coach pretending to be a HC with a collection of coordinators either no one else wanted (2020)or no one else thought could be coordinators (2021), the odds of maximizing that talent significantly increase.
It is one thing to lose because you simply don't have enough great players to compete. That hasn't been LSU's problem. The problem was that the success of 2019 tricked Ed in to believing he actually knew what he was doing in terms of the on-field approach.
Ole Miss went 3-21 in Ed's three years as HC. Still, he was able to get talent. Which is why it was possible for Houston Nutt to take a 3-9 (0-8) Ole Miss team in 2007 and turn them into a 9-4 (5-3) team in 2008 that beat eventual national champion Florida, came within one drive of beating then #2 Alabama, and crush LSU by 18 points. That talent actually had someone who knew what the hell he was doing directing it.
The SINGLE BIGGEST ANCHOR holding LSU back over the last two years is gone. So tell me why LSU shouldn't be competitive this season with one of the winningest active HC's in the game?

Pretty interesting on what bear Went on to say about LSU his takes are normally on the money whether we like them or not, he said UCLA was gonna be us last year, but he’s saying we may be sneaky good This year I like it

Ole Miss, Arkansas, and Mississippi State, you know 2 of them are only going to be .500 in SEC play like last year. Hell even A&M was only .500. Those teams just aren't better than us.
Dude do you not pay attention to recruiting? A&M has a better roster right now than LSU. That’s a fact. Does that mean they beat us? Well no

Makes me laugh how A&M is suddenly being mentioned in the same breath as Bama and Georgia for no apparent reason

I’m in.
SEC gets three teams in the CFP this year and Texas A&M goes to the Texas Bowl! Why not.

I think Ole Miss will be fine, but State I don't think is any good and Arky is the most overrated team in the SEC besides Aggy.

Have you paid attention to any of the 2023 NFL Draft projections? How many Aggies vs Tigers are projected to go in rounds 1-3? That one recruiting class didn't suddenly jump A&M's roster into being better than the Tiger's.

Will Rogers put up some really good numbers last season & the 2022 Bulldogs are a upperclassmen heavy team. That's when they are usually a more difficult challenge.
quote:
1. QB Will Rogers
Rogers is entering the 2022 campaign ranked as one of the top quarterbacks in the SEC. The third-year starter was among the best in the conference last season with 4,739 passing yards and 36 touchdowns, and he even led the nation with a completion percentage of 74 percent. The success of the Bulldogs this season largely rests on Rogers' shoulders, but he appears ready for the challenge.

It seems as though what Jimbo really excels at….
Is making the media believe his program is elite.
How the shite are they consistently talked about like they’re top dogs? When they have no modern national titles, no conference titles, and usually hang in the 8-4 range.

Arkansas could be pretty good this year, but their schedule is brutal. They have Cincy, BYU, and Liberty for OOC games.
I see 1 good team in that bunch and that one is very winnable.
Catching Cincy early with so many guys lost to the pros and an unsettled QB situation is a big plus for Pig. BYU is no joke. They'll smash Liberty.

We have a decent chance beating: UF,Aub,State,OM,Ark, and to a lesser extent A&M. Herbie may be on to something, but if we lose to Fla State, we may not win 1 or 2 of the above list.

Then look where the game falls in on their schedule.

Not only that, the game is in Provo, Utah.

Fallica went on to say that LSU could be the 3rd best SEC team.
My bold prediction is that, while we aren’t a playoff contender this year, we finish 9-3 and end up 2nd in the west.
