Before the 2007 Championship game we were in Pat O'Brien's next to a bunch of tOSU fans. I asked them, considering the the sheer number of stickers some of their players have on their helmets, what are they for--just showing up?

They were not amused. Then I made a comment about "SEC Speed" and got the hell out of there.

For LSU? Nay, I say.

I actually think Ohio State's buckeye stickers look good. It's been part of their helmet since 1968 and hasn't changed.

It was cool in the 80's
Not needed now

A throwback helmet including them would be sweet

Different numbers, plus players’ names on the back not enough, huh?

nope. Part of a team, need unity. Not just of purpose, but appearance too.

If you allowed every player to "be an individual" with their appearance, you'd have a lot of crazy stuff going on. It would look terrible.

Yes keep that in the big ten. All we need is sponsors getting a hold of this and we got purple drumsticks on the back of our helmets because KFC is the sponsor one year

In all my years of coaching the youth game, I never used helmet stickers & certainly should not be done at LSU. Reward them for a W, not an individual.

Down here in the SEC we don’t go for pom-poms or stickers just blood and guts.

Ya. We did it in the 1970’s. But in the 1970’s we were also throwing it 5 times a game so there’s that.
I do miss those tear away jerseys.
