You think Lane would feel good about leaving Ole Miss to go here and work for some puppet controlled by a crazy governor?

She was apparently fired from Pitt just 13 months ago.

I admit I know nothing about her… but why would she fail at Pitt and succeed at LSU?

You are probably also hearing the name Karen a lot. For the sauce that I read, the guys name being floated around is Saban. You can try googling him.

What does this even mean? Are you implying a woman can’t run a business? What does men’s sports pays the bills have to do with the AD’s gender? And there only 2 sports that turn a profit, football and men’s basketball

If the President is the Rousse from McNeese, then that suggest Will Wade might be the Men's BB coach in 2026.

Why? That makes no sense

Rousse was the guy who hired him at McNeese. So if the rumors are true that there was a push to hire Wade, he is now at NC State, why wouldn't lets say if LSU makes a change in the spring of 2026 that Rousse as LSU President, who was involved in the hiring of Wade at McNeese would not lets say at least see if he is interested in coming to LSU for the 2026-2027 season.

So my wording "suggest" in hindsight was too strong, I concede that point, but is it a far fetched theory that it could happen if Rousse is announced as LSU President next week.

Yes. Wade is in his first year at NC State. The season hasn’t even started yet

There is no possibility that Rousse being hired as President at LSU has anything to do with Wade.

Yes. A female would have zero shot at running a major university’s athletic department such as LSU. No shot, and shouldn’t.

Ok, then what is the plan?

We just blew up the athletic department, apparently because the AD paid what the market demands to get a top coach in football, and chose to dismiss a basketball coach that would not cooperate with the AD and Board of Supervisors during an NCAA investigation. Said basketball coach had already been suspended once in his time here.

Football coach not particularly pleasant, but had won 10, 10 and 9 games, was 34-14 here.

That's all fine, if you have a legit plan to upgrade, and the current market says you have to make a move now. But wiping out the AD and then the governor making statements about how everything is overpriced.... that doesn't seem to mesh with having a plan.

Did we pay Kelly's buyout in order to hire some small college coach for $5 mil? That could have happened in the offseason.
Do we honestly think a top tier coach will come here for way less than other big programs will pay? If so, we're delusional.

I just want to see something that indicates we didn't do this simply because the boosters had a tantrum after we got blown out vs A&M, and now we're drifting.
