OK guys, does anyone argue that an announcer should say that a ball has left the yard before it does? Now he is spending some time trying to explain why he called it a HR, yet it was caught.

I usually don't post in these, but I can't help myself after that one. (Arkansas hitter) *crack of the bat* "And that ball is outta here...*Long Pause*...CAUGHT! And Raph Rhymes makes a spectacular catch!"

Just stop it already with the Hawthorne sucks stuff. I'm 34 an to me, he is and always has been the voice of LSU. Yes I heard the leaving the yard stuff and I pictured myself being there and thinking it was going to leave and witnessing a great catch. If that little mis-step was that upsetting to you, your life is going to be one huge disappointment. Have you ever listened to other college announcers? They sound like grass growing.

I'm 30, very successful, and my life is far from a disappointment, but thanks for the advice!

OK, fine. But he said it was a homerun. He didn't say it might leave the yard. You don't call a homer until it is a homer.

My life is fine, but JH is not very good. Just saying.

Lol, don't take it personal. I had to respond to somebody and you were the last one.

Like earlier when he said the throw got away and run scored, but no.

My apologies. Saw it replied to me and it hit a nerve, especially since I mentioned that I never post in these. But that call was pretty bad. :cheers

It would just be nice to know what the hell is going on in the baseball game that I can't physically see. If that's being nit-picky, then so be it

Ever consider that the problem might lie in your ability to comprehend?

So when an announcer says it is a HR but the ball is caught, what are we to comprehend?

That he thought the ball had the carry to get out, but was wrong. I know, I know that you have never watched a ball sail off the bat and said to someone,"That's out of here," and it always did because you are perfect, right? You sit in the stands and call each and every pitch right, make the correct calls every time on plays at the bases and are never never wrong.

Geeze you people are getting absolutely insane around here. I have never been around so many imperfect perfectionists in my life.

For some reason baseball seems to give him the most trouble of the three sports he covers.

Y'all can say what y'all want, I never use to bash Jim but he's just flat out TERRIBLE. I cursed so many times tonight because of his stupidity. Time to give it up Jim, you suck.
