Have we talked about Glen Logan getting away with an obvious block in the back?

As we bitch about getting screwed on the Devin White targeting call, can we acknowledge sometimes LSU benefits from shitty calls?

Here is the biggest play of the game vs MSU, Divinity’s interception. LINK

At 9 seconds, you can see Glen Logan commits a blatant block in the back at the 22 yard line. Ten yards from the spot, LSU should start the possession at the 32 instead of the 3. Given the offense couldn’t do crap in the first half, a TD is unlikely and the entire course of the game shifts.

If Bama got away with a call like that on Nov 3rd, this board would be at Chernobyl level meltdown.

So let’s acknowledge there is always some give and take with crappy calls.

WTF? Please tell me you’re not suggesting that’s blatant?

Just watched it and it was a 50/50 call. It was mostly on the side of the State player, but could've been called in the back and no one would have questioned the call.

On a play in traffic, thats a tough one to spot and let alone call.

If you try hard enough though, I'm sure you can find one or two more "no-calls" LSU got away with.

The biggest play of the game came 2 minutes into the game?

Huh...interesting.

Yes exactly like that one. The fact they failed to make numerous shitty calls vs Bama doesn’t mean LSU didn’t benefit from a big one vs MSU.

I’m as pissed about White as anyone, but the fact this thread will get downvoted into oblivion and I’ll get criticized just shows that there’s bias. If you can’t objectively acknowledge LSU benefited from a blown call, then that’s exactly why the SEC office doesn’t give a crap about the hissy fit being thrown about a legitimately bad call.

Didn’t realize the middle of his jersey number is his side.

Every team benefits from missed calls just about every game and most are ok with that as it evens itself out. I'm sure there were calls MSU benefitted from as well in the game. The difference is it never happens to Bama and the evidence over the years is just too much to ignore.

Does a player get kicked out of a game and suspended for a half because of a marginal at best block in the back? Once again, WTF is this shite?

For the sake of argument, let's call it a completely 100% blown call.

How much benefit, do you think, LSU received in total from that call, which would have still allowed LSU to keep possession of the ball deep in MSU territory with 13:00 left in the first quarter?? And why post this while people are pissed about the White ejection, as if the two are even remotely equatable?

The 2nd offensive play of the game was the biggest play of the game, huh? That tells me State did nothing all night on offense and had no shot.

That wasn't even a block in the back. He hit him from the side and was not completely behind him at all. Nothing blatant. You can see that when you actually watch the play in regular speed.

What are you looking at? The guy who Logan hit is #51. You can see the 5 clearly and the 1 curved as Logan hit him in his rib area.

As someone mentioned earlier, maybe it's on the back part of the rib, but it's not the middle of the number since you can see the number. Blocks like that usually aren't called because the guy went flying sideways, not forwards. That's not a blatant miss, so while I understand your point that bad calls happen and sometimes we are on the good end of them, this is a piss poor example.

A block in the back on an int on the 2nd play from scrimmage is hardly “a big one.”

Wow, this is sad of you.

One missed holding or blocks in the back happens all the time..

If it happens consistently, of course we are going to complain.. This sure is reaching of you though.

Awful targeting being reviewed and upheld is far more criminal than letting them play.

I think it was the Georgia game? We kept getting held and they weren't calling it, but it was okay because they were letting both teams play. Maybe it was the Florida game. I don't even remember.

You can block in the back near the LOS. It’s called he free blocking zone.
