Have we ever had as "cocky" a starting qb as Mett before?

I am not making any judgments on how Mett will do, I hope we win every game with him, my question is have we EVER had as cocky a qb before? Based on my recollection no, and it's not real close.

Mett- Very cocky since day one
JJ- cocky at times, but not on same level except for a few quotes about his play
Lee- not at all
RP- started one game so to me does not count in my question, but cocky at first, then not so much
JR- not until he started and even then was very gracious to teammates etc until near draft time.
M Flynn- not at all
Matt M- not at all
Booty- he was at times, but IMO it was Abram's cockiness that too often got connected to Josh. Josh was not unassuming, but he was not very cocky
Marcus Randall- no
Graves, Loup, not at all
H Tyler- not at all
J Howard- no
Ensminger/Woodley- no
Miley/Trimble/Lyons- no
Bert Jones- before my time
Hodson- ahhh...no
Guidry- no

Dude, RP said he was gonna win 4 Heismans and was wondering why he wasn't starting from Day 1. Yea, I think he takes the cake.

I never thought of Flynn as cocky, but he always seemed very confident which reflects on why he is in the position he is in now. You don't make that throw against Auburn '07 or Alabama '07 unless you have confidence. People always talked about Les the gambler but you had to have a QB like Flynn to make it work.

I like Mett's swag. He's good and he knows it. I'd rather that than an unsure Lee and an oblivious JJ

Woah now, just last week people talking about JJs aarogance. If he doesnt perform the fan base will turn on him too.

But in my era its gotta be RP. The hesiman predictions, didnt someone shove him in a locker his freshmen year cus he ran his mouth so much? The multiple bar incidents with RP running his mouth, sorry sir the bar is closed, im Ryan Perrilloux!! Really? No one gives a shite.

That dude thought he was above the rules of society and he hadnt even played a down for LSU.

It's not cocky if you can back it up. By that definition, guys like JJ and Josh Booty were extraordinarly cocky.

Since Mett hasn't shown enough yet to merit judgement, I'd have to say yeah, he's pretty cocky, too. That's subject to change, based on his performance.

Could someone explain why he is cocky? What did he do to receive that label. To me he seems pretty grateful and patient for having to wait his turn last year into this year. Everybody says he's cocky. Why

It isn't cockiness ... It is Swagger which is the fine line between confidence and cockiness. Had he been cocky, he would have started trouble when he wasn't playing all last season which he didn't do.

you need talent to pull off being cocky and he has talent. I like it. The offense NEEDS it.

After Jan 9, I personally would feel cocky walking on to play QB at LSU.

You're basically taking Obama's stance to win over the players and the fans...."I'm not the other guy".
